**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

A 50% power difference in specs won't always equal a 50% difference in real world performance IMO. Theoretical performance and real world performance are often 2 very different things.

Oh, and before you go quoting BF and COD at me, remember there are more games running at equal specs than different specs :)
Definitely, just look at the performance difference between the gtx 780 and the gtx 780 ti. More cuda cores etc but performance increase aint that dramatic unless OC'd.

Personally I think the DOF and overall image quality is a lot better on the PS4, someone else may think the difference is minimal.

I think both look good in different ways. Personally, I prefer the XO version, purely because in a racing game I'd prefer the distance to be more in focus so I have a better idea of what's ahead. That's just me though :)

Bokeh not enabled in the actual races - pointless waste of resources IMHO; surprised how much better HB/DAO is over SSAO though...

ps3ud0

I was thinking the same. I couldn't care less about one being more blurry. Am I mad?

I don't think there's any doubt the PS4 is quicker (how it doesn't cook in that tiny case and yet stays quiet is some industrial design worthy of serious respect), better is a somewhat subjective question though.

I really don't get this argument. The console is designed with mid-range laptop components, which focus on low power consumption and heat output rather than performance.

If a laptop with 2 tiny fans and minute heatpipes/heatsinks can keep cool with those components then a box eight times thicker ought to cope fine.

That's a really odd one. When I first looked I preferred the PS4 picture, but swapping between them is odd. The PS4 has the foreground sharp which works in some areas (the back of the car) but looks a bit odd in others (the jaggies along the roof and blue lights). The whole background is then blurry. The X1 version seems to have a consistent sharpness/blur across the entire picture including the background but the car seems a little softer. Not sure which I prefer, probably the X1 in that shot, i'm not a fan of blur (I have to turn motion blur off on BF for example).

Hard to say from a still without it actually moving though.

True enough I suppose if you put it that way. Still think it looks nicely put together and after a teardown doesn't seem to have sacrificed reparability either. :)

Anywhere for a Day One? I am sick of browsing for hours and coming up with nothing!!

Likewise, I don't think anywere online now is doing release day sales.
I have accepted its a trip to the stores on the off-chance on release day, or wait until new year and possible better bundles/deals. :p

its not going to be blurred like that when racing, it will most likely be clearer than the xbox, that pic may be from a cutscene

Just wow, total fanboyism. Show two pictures, XB1 clearly looks better. Reply is "yea well it wont look like that in-game".

Get a grip.
