Killer Instinct

I love that this is being brought back. Yeah its not being made by Rare but they clearly have people on board who were involved in the original games.

It may not look like the KI I enjoyed all those years ago but I'm sure it'll be as good as if not better than the last KI (most importantly KI 1).

If I ever decide to get an XB1........ This will be the first game I get. Sony needs to create their own new/fresh beat 'em up.

If I ever get a XB1, I will certainly get KI even if its to try it out. Thou I've never brought any M$ console before.

Its seems to be that they got the who's who of the western fighting dev world, but SF got mention more than enough times in comparison.

It seems like they have no shame in saying yes we have taken all the best bits of fighting games to make the best fighting game; with our combo system.

I do like the 4 different enders to do four different things.
Not sure about the VM to stop infinite combos.

Without trying to turn this to a xb1 hate thread, but there say they can monitor whats happening during games and patch up when needed, and that they can use the kinect to monitor the whos playing and changing character and button config to that player. who says m$ wont be monitoring users all the time.

Sony don't need to make there own combat game, they just need to pay Capcom to make them one of their games Playstation only. Image Rival Schools/Project Justice 3 as a PS4 only game. Or Sony could buy Atlus (their parent company has cash issues at the moment) and get P4A 2.

Or that.

Either way I'm liking what I've heard so far about KI. So want!

Dead or Alive 5 ultimate is coming out, and it has virtual fighters peps in it.

Seems like some tag features in it, I haven't really played doa or vf much recently, but the best feature of the jigga effect seems to be turn down.

So, leading up to Friday I see the hype for this game starting to build again. I sadly won't have an arcade stick at launch for this so I may have to try it on the controller and hope for the best, anyway just some details before you hit the buy button:

Launch Characters:

Jago, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Thunder, Sadira & Orchid.

(Note: Shadow Jago does take up an additional character slot but in terms of gameplay there is no difference between him and Jago. He is an additional costume with different visual effects and a different voice)

Season 1 DLC Characters:

Spinal (Expected in January) & Fulgore (Expected in March).

Maybe we could get a list of names and gamertags added to the original post?

Don't mind updating.

My gamertag is in my signature =)

What's the reasoning behind having only 6 characters? Other than milking the consumer of course.

I think the game has been rushed to be honest, only 6 characters and no story mode. I think Double Helix somewhere in the development process thought okay we're not going to be able to get a lot of content into this at launch so let's focus on certain areas and perfect those, then hope people will stick around for the DLC. For example the gameplay seems to be really good/balanced and the practice mode (dojo) is being labelled as the best ever in a fighting game.

... or they could just be milking us :)

Jago is the demo character, Shadow Jago comes with the Day One Live subscription but as I mentioned earlier he's basically just a costume there's no change to his core gameplay or mechanics at all.

KI is the only 'next gen'(ps4/xbone) console game so far that I really want to play. I will definitely be picking it up next year or once there are several games available on the console that i want to get.

I hope they can release content fast enough to retain peoples interest while keeping things balanced. Based on what I have read and seen so far they've done well on defining the core mechanics of the game.

Little disappointed that my 360 arcade stick wont be compatible but at the same time its not like KI will be the only fighter ever released on the xbo :D
