The point being that MTs can dramatically alter the balance and potentially design/mechanics of a game more than any other payment model. It's also far worse than just affecting difficulty level, i.e. Real Racing 3 where you have to wait for repairs to your cars if you're not spending money.
Slightly questionable in a F2P game but extremely questionable in a $60/£50+ game (and in Forza's case already 1 paywall up in the form of DLC). Again as someone else said I'd rather the game isn't playing me...
Actually found this posted about Forza 5 in the NeoGaf Micro Transaction thread:
For "just play the game" people, if you add up the total CR cost of all the cars in the game (from here), it comes to 104,501,000CR.
Both Grassy and transformer on this page give a rate of 230k CR/hour. That works out at 454 hours.

Ouch if true...
Just ignore them![]()
Grinding is nothing new to get new stuff in games. Been happening for years. Dont have Forza 5 so cant be certain, but assume if someone has one racing game over the next 12/18mths they would likely play that amount of time?
100% agree with this. Full priced games shouldn't have any form of micro transactions.I'm totally against micro transactions in full priced games. I think it's a disgusting business practice by publishers.
Either make the game free or at a lower price and include them or give us ALL the content if it's full price.
No doubt most publishers would say they've had to put them in games because they've done away with online passes.
Neogaf have done some rough calculations for how long to get all the cars.
Just grinding, it will take you roughly 400 to 500 hours.
Even just grinding for one car is insane in my eyes 40 to 50 hours for one decent car.
To but them all it will cost you about. $1690-$2700.
I dont want to play a game like that. I got fed up with the grind in the earlier Gran Turismos and that was less than this.
Why can we not just have an option in the menu or cheats to unlock the content that you already paid for. Or even a simple arcade mode where you win races and win cars.
Look at Fifa, people spend hundreds or even thousands on ultimate team.
I am one such numpty who has spent about £300 on Fifa 14.
