Hi guys, I pre-ordered my PS4 from Tesco and it will be delivered on Friday by Parcel Force :(

Now compared to other couriers, Parcel Force are in the dark ages. No time slot given, the only tracking is basically when it gets put on the van, and you can't even track the current GPS position of the van! :p

Anyway, I live in a block of flats, so the chances of Parcel Force bothering to ring my mobile so I can come down and sign for it are minimal. I plan on ringing them the moment I get my tracking number on Thursday to see if they can hold it at my local depot for me to collect myself on Friday.

Has anyone had experience with this? A friend of mine has done this before, but I'm not sure how likely it is that I will get through to a real human being on the phone, and if they'll just shun me off.

I missed a Parcel Force delivery whilst staying at a campus, phoned the local depot up and he told me I can come collect it that same evening or have it redelivered the next day as standard, so was quite a useful guy in my experience.

Try phoning the depot first.

My local Parcel Force depot have normally been pretty helpful when I've spoken to them about various things so give them a ring and see what they say.

Of course it'll probably vary from depot to depot so ymmv

Yeh I just don't really want to have to wait all day to get my PS4 as I have booked the day off work. So it will be a waste if I can't get it until after 4pm

This is pretty normal. DPD/Interlink are ahead of the rest of the field when it comes to track and trace, don't think it's the norm for the industry.

I've tried this before though can't remember which company it was. Arrived at the depot thursday or friday from memory and was due to be delivered on monday/tuesday or something stupid. Even though the depot was open for collections on saturday was told nothing could be done until a delivery attempt had been made :(

Don't think you will have much luck, after all they are a delivery service not a storage and delivery one.

Yeah I've done this before a few times - once it went out for delivery when I had driven all the way to collect it but t all other times it was okay.

Why did you not just do click and collect from Tesco? O_o

Unfortunately I couldn't do that with the PS4, as they are all being sent out with Parcel Force (minus the few that were pre-ordered in store).

Standard Delivery was the only option available.
