Instead grab the update from xda when it becomes available.
And how would you install the update?
Would it still mean wiping the device? Redoing root/unlocking bootloader?
I've just got it setup to exactly i want it so cannot really be bother setting all system and apps up all again.
From what I've read if you have custom recovery then you will not get ota

Guys if I'm on stock rom and stock recovery but rooted with no mods, can I safely apply the OTA with no issues?

For a while? You know rooting will wipe your device right?
4.4.1 installs fine via CWM recovery, but you'll need to rehash it and re-root after.
Does 4.4.1 address the speaker / headset issues ?
I've just installed it on my phone and the speaker is MUCH louder... it's almost unbelievable how loud it is now in comparison to what it was. I was sure it was hardware, apparently not.
Just played about with the camera in low light in my room. Focus is pretty much instant, camera starts up much faster. The couple of shots I did take had perfect focus and were really very good.
All in all impressions of the update so far is that it seems much better then expected.
