Kickstarted Chthulhu Wars early this year, rather sad that it won't arrive in time for christmas.
Yeah I spent quite a ridiculous amount on that!
I should recommend Game of Thrones.
Ugh!
I like the idea around the game, but having played it twice - no more. The game takes around six hours to play, but with the time spent waiting while others um, er, decide where they are going to march, if they want to march, and which card they want to use in battle, I only ever ended up playing the game for about 2 of those six hours while the other 4 were spent waiting for things to happen that would have little to no influence on me.
Cultist early bird with a few expansions, think it was about $350! Should be awesome though![]()
Really? In my experience it is a rather fast paced game since everyone essentially take their turns at the same time. And if someone took more than 10 seconds to decide their battle card I'm pretty sure I would have to reach over and slap them.
Can you guys recommend any decent 2 player games? me and my girlfriend play the odd game of LOTR (board game) but it is our only game, some more 2 players games would be great (co-op or competitive). Any suggestions?
Just played first game of Forbidden Island, rather enjoyed itthanks to everyone in the thread who suggested it.
At first I thought it was going to rather easy, how wrong was I! those tiles start to drop like flies.
That's similar to a lot of Fantasy Flight games. They have complex rules that take a game or two to understand but then the game length usually around halves in duration.
Fantasy Flight = counters, counters everywhere.
Pah, FFG and their 'Ameritrash' games can't compete with the chits, cubes and discs from such euro classics as Agricola, Terra Mystica, Nations, Russian Railroads and the daddy of all games with lots of bits - Caverna.![]()
Finally played some 2 player games this weekend:
Memoir 44 -it's a simple strategy game with a surprising amount of depth - games are quick, which is a huge bonus.
Android Netrunner - only played two games of this (once as hacker and once as the corp). I'll need a few more games of this as i'm not yet feeling the love for this, but I did like the asymmetric gameplay.
