Serious question, where is the better performance?
Bit of an aggressive post considering people have only commented on the noise, and not strictly complained about it
Fact is the XO is quieter than the PS4, but that doesn't mean the PS4 is what you would call noisy.
Not really aggressive tbh is it - if that is what you consider aggressive, then I fear for you when you actually venture outside.
Fact is, the noise is irrelevant unless you actually stick your ear to the console.
It is relevant if you can hear a noise that bothers you, no matter how close you are to the console
Can't say I have noticed any noise with the PS4.
Noise on the PS4...really?! To be honest like others I haven't heard anything/much/at all after the initial Disc spin, even on Killzone. I was actually really impressed with it. It might all be down to how well the thermal material is applied though in terms of how cool it stays so not having to ramp up, room temp etc where it's being housed. Can't hear mines past that initial part.
I will say this though the XBone is silent pretty much completely at all times from when I was over at my mates.

Of course it is silent because it is so under powered it doesn't produce any heat at max load.

This is completely dependent on;
A) How good your hearing is.
B) Whether that particular noise bothers you personally.
I guess what Sony should be doing is launching a survey to determine the averages on what sound frequency bothers most people and at what point?!
Seriously its a gaming console - meant to be played with the sound up. If people are really so concerned with the sound of the fan rather than the gaming capabilities then the XB1 is for you.
That said, I have a more pressing issue - The lights on the console itself and the torch on the DS4 is completely distracting me from playing any type of game or watching any film. Also while we are at the stage of complaining about major design flaws and faults - why isn't the PS4 square? Why the slope? It just doesn't fit in with my current square equipment!

Gets a bit warm... nothing to write home about.
If you like mindless jump about and whack type games then Knack is brilliant, I love it, on my 2nd playthrough, not played a game thru more than once in years
Ok I just tried to fix my ds4 r1 sticking. Pretty easy to fix but my trigger poped off.
So after I put it all back together. I started to notice not a lot of resistance in the right trigger.
Opened it up again to check and noticed that there was a tiny little spring missing....
Spent an hour with a torch trying to find it in the carpet with no luck. Was bout to give up and spotted that it somehow got stuck to the side of my chair

So be careful if you decide to try and fix yours

When my fat Ps3 died (for the first time) I got aggravated and decided to remove the disc from the blu ray drive by taking it apart, big mistake, stuff flew everywhere, including springs. After I figured it all out and put it back together (and in the meantime calmed down and reflowed the solder using a heatgun) I admired the engineering of its construction but damn is that something I never want to repeat.
