*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Good move switching back to N5 Mate I guess you've retired the G2 for now?

Am also thinking of flashing the Cataclysm ROM as I've heard good things about it. Be really interested on your thoughts once you've installed it.

yeh mate, G2 now had a new owner :D

will report back about Cataclysm

was really interested in the Smart 3G option

yeah its loud mine is since 442 update

Oh wow. OK, well as the RMA is in motion, I will compare the two devices to see if there is a difference.

I called Google and they confirmed that you have a warranty against these kind of defects WITH THEM (so long as you ordered through the Play Store) for 2 years i.e. there is no need to deal with LG's poor service centres, just call Google and they will RMA it.

Oh wow you sold the G2? You certainly don't hang about do you? Lol :D

Cheers Mate it am looking forward to your findings, it certainly seems like an interesting ROM.

Anyone else had signal issues since updating to 4.4.1 or 4.4.2? Mine struggles to get signal in a timely manner. For example, on my desk next to my keyboard I get full signal, before the update, if i had no signal and put the phone down in that spot, it would find full bars of signal in approx 5 seconds flat ... now it takes 30-45 seconds to achieve the same signal, seems to happen everywhere too

Either update or local o2 issue but cant see any problems on o2 page or giffgaff pages

Seems to be plenty on XDA suffering same signal issue and they've managed to put the Radio back from 4.4 but not sure I can do that without rooting as of yet. Might just persist with it

Press the dialer, then when you press the square to load keypad, nothing appears but a blank box, you have to cancel then press again to load touch pad.

I don't have this.
Have you tried clearing the data for the dialler app in settings?

Edit: it's called phone, not dialler.

Why do people compare phones that are vastly different in price. The iPhone 5S is a £550 phone. That's £240 more after shipping costs.

I'd like to see someone compare the Nexus 5 to a similar priced device.

i agree mate but nexus 5 to me has a better camera imo (4.4.2) and £240 cheaper :p

Why not, the Nexus 5 price is not a evaluation off its quality, more the fact that Google doesn't need to make profit. It is ever bit as high end as £500 phones, the camera hardware is actual as good if not better then almost everything on the market. What holds it back is mostly the software.

I for one don't want to give Google a pass for them deciding to undercut everyone. Also it isn't like the GNex had amazing hardware for its time and it cost as much if not more than everything at that time.
