When 5UB contacted me last week to see if I wanted to help out, I was only too glad to do so, but I had no idea it would explode into something as awe inspiring as this. It gives me great pride in being a member of this forum to see how people come together to make a real, palpable difference to a families life...a real difference.
This is what Christmas is all about, not arguing over commercialism, religion or other nonsence..but the spirit and tenaciousness shown by Hitman_leon and his children in the face of adversity and the good will and selflessness shown by everyone in this thread who contributed and continues to contribute to making their lives that little bit easier.
All of you should feel some pride in what you are doing here today, I know many of you have given what you can ill afford and that makes it all the more amazing. It is what a community is all about, and it illustrates that despite all of our differences and arguments, we can collectively make a difference to one of our own.

Hitman_Leon, you have touched not only Children's lives, but those on this forum and beyond with your spirit, integrity and sheer force of will..you have inspired people and taught just a few of us that our cynicism in people is misplaced.
I was speaking to my wife about this thread the other day, and last night my 14 year old son must have overheard and he came home last night and gave me a fistful of money..he and his friends had donated some of their pocket money because they wanted to do something. I will forward it onto 5UB along with a donation from my research team at work later today.
