*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

£42 isn't that much cheaper ;)

Try and buy it on PS3 second hand with an unused upgrade code for like £10-£15.

Personally I don't like buying upgrade copies as they are digital yet still require you keep the disc for them to work.

So you ca never sell the ps4 copy on, and if you sell the ps3 copy on you will get naff all for it and you can't play the ps4 version again.

So I would try and either get the ps3 version for as cheap as possible or buy the ps4 version, so you can sell it on for a decent price.

With games that are released yearly, I try and sell them 4 months before the newest release comes out on ebay. So i get 8 months of play, and a decent amount of cash back for them to go towards the next version.

These companies make far too much money pumping out the same game every year with a few tweaks added to it which would have been added through updates.

I'm going to get NBA 2K14. Buying it 2nd hand though. £45 is too much :p

Couldn't I use that very.co.uk website as a first time customer and get the PS4 version for £30?

In fact, couldn't I just buy NBA 2K14 (PS4) and 90 day PS Plus off there for a total of £70, use the £30 off voucher and get both for a final total of £40?

I'm just thinking, I'd be saving £5 off the game compared to that other place, but getting a 3 month PS plus sub included

Not sure if this his been posted, but it's been found out that Foxconn employees are selling off sets of 10 official replacement analogue sticks for a tenner:

Some guy on reddit order them and confirmed it, but he got given 20 instead of 10. I only see my left thumb stick wearing down, so 10 replacements should last ages. I've ordered them, will see how they go.

Cheers, ordered some - figure they should last me the life of the console :D

Considering investing in a Playstation 4 (first time ever entering into the Playstation domain!) after my Xbox One farce.

Anyone know the best place to currently pick one up? Monitoring stock informer but not getting much luck other than over priced bundles..

Any stability issues on PS4 that I should be aware of? Any previous Xbox users, how have you found the changeover and getting to grips with the different controller?

Cheers

I'm real sceptical about using that Very.co.uk website.. It asks you to create a credit account, etc and I don't want to find I'm paying stuff down the line.

Can I confirm the agreement, apply the voucher code then pay off what I owe instantly? That's what I want to do, then I want to close the account.

Is this possible? Need a helping guide :D

Stock - i think february is when it will be readily available unless you get lucky or pay over the odds.

stability issues on the console - none

stability issues with games - there are issues but i think patches have fixed them or are being worked on and they are worse on xb1 from what people are saying in the bf4 thread, so again ps4 is better on that front.

DS4 controller has been touted as the better of the two controllers, in fact people have switched to ps4 from 360 because of the controller alone.

no NHL or wipeout. Must admit first PlayStation I've owned and not had these two games pretty much the second I've got it... missing wipeout , thankfully ps vita fills that void.

but no ice hockey, damn shame, better at hockey then FIFA but boy I think FIFA on ps4 is one good looking and great to play football gsme IMO..

Yes shame no NHL until next year :(

Im avoiding FIFA since they ripped features out of it. Tempted by Madden to play over christmas

stuff on very is so overpriced even when you add in the voucher code your only saving a few quid at best.

Games are like £55 which can be had for £40 on play asia or even cheaper if you use trade in upgrade programmes from amazon for EA titles or psn upgrade programmes for others.

the only thing worth buying from very is a coloured DS4 and a 90 day PS+ sub imo, as essentially you end up getting a coloured version for the price of a black (from play asia) and the 90 day sub for free.

plus very have been known to charge full amounts afterwards months down the line for abuse of their codes, unless im mistaking them for another overcharging mail order company which gives you pay weekly/monthly options.

It's totally arcade with no in car cam at all. Tried it round a mates house and it wasn't for me. Looked like a pretty average arcade racer with a spread sheet overlay, there is literally that much stuff constantly popping up on the screen.

Thank you :) ... this, and the replies from MOOGLEYS to ZG002 question has put me firmly off getting it. It would be okay if it wasn't around 50 quid, but that is too much to risk it.

Guess I'll wait for Driveclub for my racing fix.

Hmm that play-asia though, won't there be overseas fees and what not? Won't the waiting times be a while?

Might just pick up NBA 2K14 PS3 version from Amazon for £25 then pay for the upgrade, I can use their Prime trial and receive it tomorrow that way.

1 month PS plus is £5.50 on their website so i'll get that for now. For the same amount I could have got the PS4 version and 3 months on Very.co.uk but not sure I want to risk it

PS4 as a whole is very stable, only the odd game related problems (like with BF4)

DS4 is great, massive improvement over the DS3 in comfort and the sticks are 10x better, just a shame I have the issue with the rubber wearing away a bit easily (nothing serious yet though)

It's going to be hard to find anywhere with stock at the moment though

Cheers for the reply.

Do you have BF4? How's it graphically? The edges of the XB1 were horribly jaggy and most disappointing, but apparently the PS4 fares better in this respect?

millions of people know about this code thing.

look at how many people in that thread say to stay away from very.

you need to open a credit account, then they charge you full price, which you have to pay the full amount then they give you £30 of credit is what it says.

therefore you pay full price for the items then get £30 of credit added to your account.

unless people on hotukdeals are wrong.
