Hello folks.

I was wondering is it really worth enabling rapid mode in the Magician software? Does it really give a performance boost or is it just a fad?

Is it worth enabling any other features in the Magician software which claim to improve SSD performance?

I have rapid mode enabled. I'm not too sure what it does. Speeds it up a bit. I don't know the background stuff it does. Run a benchmark before turning it on, turn it on a do another benchmark. It won't make too much impact, couple of MB/s here and there, you probably won't notice much difference, but its nice to know its there.

Just another question. If you have an SSD and HDD in your system, should Prefetch/SuperFetch be disabled in Magician software or left enabled?

its upto you

ssd doesn't use those features according to Samsung magician but your mechanical hdd's might so will help to speed those up

I removed its boot entry from msconfig IIRC - theres some issues with it where on some configurations it uses DX in a bad way causing games to spit out DX errors or lose context if its running in the background.

I don't reccomend RAPID mode as it increases the chance of data loss albeit it only slightly if you suddenly lose power and only really does anything in a few highly specific applications and does nothing for most useage despite the benchmark numbers.

You mean the administrator rights?
I think its good to keep that as a safety net incase you run any "suspect" software by mistake.

You can always disable uac to stop those messages, but that will give anything on your PC full admin rights, without your input. I set mine to the lower setting where I still need to say yes, but it doesn't grey the screen or anything. I think it is set under system in the control panel.
