*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

on the bottom of the box the phone came in it says the model for mine is LG-D821. Not sure but I think I remember seeing a LG-D820 somewhere. Maybe that?

Lg-d821 is eu, lg-d820 us.

There will be rev2's (that aren't really any better) for both.

Guys is there no way of turning off hangouts searching people near me when in hangouts ? Really pees me off when I start tying a contact name is finds some random dude

One thing I cannot figure out is how to empty the recycle bin on the default email app. It says 999+ but there is no multi select and no 'Empty Bin'
I don't fancy checking them all or sliding each one.

Just got a Nexus 5 very smooth, screen is on the warm side, in fact warmer than any other tablet or phone I've used before

I have franco kernel running with his official app;

undervolted by -50mv which helps overheating and battery life

set the max temp before it throttles down to 60C from 70C, to stop it from getting too warm

seems to stay cold now

Gah- my replacement N5 turned up with a horrible yellow hue on the screen.

The first phone had a faulty vibrator, this one has a faulty screen. I compared the two and the first device has a lovely white screen, the replacement has a horrible visibly yellowy tint to it.

3rd time lucky hopefully.

XDA have been reporting yellow tints on the "V2" devices. Does your new one have the larger speaker grill holes?

I would have just fixed the vibrator on your first phone. It's easy to pop off the back and re-seat it if it was weak/rattled/buzzed, and you don't void the warranty.

Both devices were V2...

"Reseating"... too much like hard work!

It's attached to the back cover. Just press on it with your thumb to make sure it's stuck properly to the double sided tape.

If you're that lazy then stop complaining ;)

NFC payments would be brilliant. My new ultrabook has an NFC touchpad, finding it really useful to send web links between phone and pc really quickly.
