who was hunting for a 2.5T Titanium X mondeo?

Would you always change the water pump at the same time as cambelt?

Ford quoted ~£300 fitted for the belt kit and ~£500 if doing the water pump too. Sounds a little steep?

How is the pump driven? It does seem unusual that they wouldn't be right at it on a belt driven engine. Unless the pump itself is very expensive

Tim Williams is a guy who does a lot of work on Volvo's, along with our 2.5 lump. He said he's only seen a couple of waterpump failures in all of the time the engine has been around. I replaced mine anyway, along with the aux belts and aux tensioners.

If you're getting the timing belt done, make sure you replace both aux belts too.

I'm on the lookout for a 2.5T titanium x as well.

Quite surprised at how difficult they are to find at the minute , unless it's just this time of year?

I dont think many were sold, so theres probably not that many about

I'm probably going to be on the lookout for a ST220 soon, just need to do a couple of jobs on my car before i can advertise it/trade it in

I did look at the 2.5T X Sport as it's got similar power to the ST, but it's more expensive and no V6 Soundtrack

It is however easy to tune, the engine has been tuned for emmisions and a lower C02 bracket as others have said, so a mountune reflash should see similar results to what they get on the Focus ST.

I think it's a good car for the money, especially if you want to get it remapped, i dont know if the 2 litre 4 pot is as tunable as the 2.5 but with 1 cylinder less i doubt it will sound as good and thats half the fun with these kind of cars

Very long way away, but you'd get change from selling the MX5 too.

High mileage, spent its life on the motorway probably.

Not that many bought/left http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=ford+modeo+titanium+x+sport

It doesn't look in great condition though based on what the owner mentioned in the ad, which is probably why it's cheap. Also not as well specc'ed as my one. But yeah, not many of them left now.

The 5 pot still sounds great whereas the 4 pot is nowhere as good. The 200ps Ecoboost engine can be tuned to 240bhp, and the 240ps one can be tuned to 260bhp according to Superchips but I imagine with the Focus ST now sharing the latter engine, more options might be available for it.

The tatty stuff is all easily fixed though. Most of us on here can swap out the mirror casing and few hundred quid with a smart repair bloke and it'd be good to go. I'd like to think it's doable for £6k all in. Not many better £6k cars around within this size/spec/age of vehicle.

**Thread Resurrection**

I just bought one :D 17k miles, Metallic Tango, Titanium Edition for £6k :D Picking it up next week!!

What year was that? Sounds like a bargain!

2007 with all the trimmings :)

Ah you git, I was looking at that one! :D Enjoy it!

You may be of help yet :D Were there any others you looked at and thought it was in bad shape? There are a couple I like but they're all 150+ miles away from me!

Wondering if this one is worth a punt!

Where are you located? I've found 2 around the M25 with 30k on the clock and only £6k:

The guy I dealt with at LMC was very knowledgeable and even offered to deliver it for free! However, I was after something with less mileage and when I found the Metallic Tango one, there was no contender, I had to get it!!

I'm in Newcastle. I've actually already enquired about those two, but Croydon would be a seriously expensive **** on to get to by train etc. :/
