M&S have dropped a clanger

Ha! Have you read the Guardian lately? Full of stories designed to irritate liberals. :) The Guardian is doing a great job of catching up with the DM's web traffic through this kind of journalism.

And why do you think that the DM panders to a majority opinion? The DM isn't read by 50%+ of the population and the political party that it supports hasn't won 50%+ of the votes in a general election since the 1930s.

Not everyone reads a paper so of course DM isn't read by 50%
But the table above shows the spread of readership.

I'd assume the top half are all the readers who find muslims odd and the bottom half the ones which welcome the cultural enrichment. If that corresponds pro rata to the population of the UK then it seems most people will find muslims an odd people (or at least that will be the main spin on all the stories they read)

What political party does the Daily Mail support? Do they have a football team too?

Haven't seen a copy so don't know if it has any party crests or made a declaration anywhere.

Surely newspapers don't give a damn whose in power as long they continue to make money. Much the same as any other business.

The Daily Mail has always supported the Conservatives. The owner of the paper is a major contributor to the Conservative party.

You're joking, right? No sane person runs a newspaper to make money. They all exist to push a political agenda of one sort or another.

Can a left wing/hippie type person refuse to deal with some of the Israeli produce they sell?

Can a working class English person get Saturdays off for football - part of their cultural identity in the same way Jewish staff are allowed Saturdays free for the Sabbath...

Oh god you talk such a lot of sanctimonious BS!!! go jump on a stick you condescending womble.

How can I hate people I never see?

Muslims are all just Lego people to me and I simply find your issues and rants over your sky pixie completely retarded, if ever there was a group that needed the Michael taken out of them it's you.

Making out people hate you is just an easy cop out in a debate "Oh I don't have to do anything, because this is all just racist hate". The reality is some people simply dislike your culture and to some degree your religion. You as a person are of no interest whatsoever, nobody hates you, please get over yourself

But ignore me if you like, if there is one thing Muslims seem to hate it's that other people refuse to take their aggressive religion seriously :p
Who do you think is going to solve this issue? Not me, not the fascist liberals that suck up to you, not the government.

It is you :)
You as a community have to get off your bum and sort your backward religion and culture out, flinging insults at people like me isn't going to get you anywhere. Although I fully expect this nonesense to continue for years, muslims still acting like retards and the Telegraph/DM printing story after story about how weird you all are and how multiculturalism has failed because of you.

That M&S apology was nothing of the sort, their policy remains the same, they are just going to move anyone who has a problem into another role. Effectively pandering to the whims of the weird religion again.
Shame for the muslim girl though, she was just doing what M&S said she could do :(

You are a massive racist though, let's be honest.

Not you dowie ;)

exactly... though your post did seem to imply it...

frankly you could be 2nd generation black Caribbean, self-identify as both 'English' and working class, live in SE London and be a die hard Millwall fan... you could quite easily argue that football on a Saturday is a part of your cultural/ethnic identity (ethnicity != race etc..) and you've never missed a match in a decade...

I do wonder though if the football excuse for not working on Saturdays would be held in the same regard (by M&S) as the my historical book & chosen deity don't allow me argument which M&S are seemingly making allowances for. Presumably a very keen football fan who follows the game religiously would also be incredibly frustrated at being assigned a Saturday shift... though I'm not sure a company policy to protect him would exist in the same way as it seemingly does if you bring supernatural beings into the argument.

Ah...but if the supernatural beings bit is correct then by making someone go against their beliefs you've just condemned them to eternal damnation.

Quite the gamble wouldn't you say?

Surely that's for the employee to decide... what if Millwall always used to lose when Tyrone missed a match, obviously they lose too at matches he watches but *always* lost when he didn't attend... thus he's kept up his decade long religious attendance at matches, its an important part of his life and culture and he believes he will jinx the team if he misses a match...

Here in Morocco, supermarket staff, almost all of whom are Muslims, sell alcohol and pork products. As they are packaged so they don't come into direct contact with the product, they have no problem handling them. They would never think of embarrassing a customer simply because they do not eat or drink the product being purchased. If a Muslim country can do this, I am struggling to understand why M&S is creating a distinction that is ultimately divisive, and it should not be encouraged in a liberal society.

lol@religion its only going to get worse.. :) not that I buy booze at M&S but if I was refused something and had to wait for another till I would genuinely never shop there again...
