What theme park rides won't you go on?

Waltzers.

I went to a gypo-ran fair years ago and there was a set of waltzers there but one of the carriages was missing, it was just the metal plate on the deck still spinning. Wonder what happened to that

But there are just some rides I cannot get my head round. There was this thing [(I think) it's called an orbiter] with four or five arms which spin round in a horizonal circle and then go higher in the air and upside down. I went on it and it was pretty horrific. Then there was this other turbine ride called Gladiator Blizzard which went bloody high and upside down. Thankfully it broke before we got on it.

Orbiter's not that bad if it's the normal version with lap bars. If it was the dangly legs version with shoulder restraints, then yes these go higher and can be disorientating, but they're good when they run flat out at the end. The Gladiator Turbine is like a normal Booster ride except that the car turn so that it's out-facing. I can understand if it's a vertigo issue, but there are a lot higher rides then Booster and Turbine.

I won't go on any spinning teacup type ride as it just makes me sick.

Yeah, the set of teacups in Drayton Manor finished me off a few years back. Luckily I've been on most rides already at the point and it was mid-late afternoon, so not too much was lost. If you control your teacup against the ride's direction, then you'll do zig zags which is better than going with the ride's direction.

Went on one of those a few years ago and the G force was incredible, really did make me feel ill afterwards.

That machine was new only last year, so you probably went on a similar ride called Rock Rage (an Inversion 12) which came out in 2009. The picture you linked is called Atmosfear (a Loop Fighter).

I went on my first rollercoaster ride last year and it was called Rita, it's at Alton Towers.

Odd.. Rita is pretty tame for a rollercoaster.

Agree with MooMoo. Rita has the initial 4.7G pull, but it is otherwise a normal steel coaster. The Smiler, Oblivion and Nemesis are more options you can try for more adrenaline :-)

All of them. I get no enjoyment from them. I'll go on them for the sake of it, I wont avoid anything unless I don't like the thought of it. It's not that I getting sick or I'm scared it's just they're boring and a waste of money.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but you very much sound like my old born-again Christian boss here who thinks that everything outside of the church is a waste of money :D

Nah, not that one. Star Flyer is the one i don't want to go on.

I guess it's a heights issue like with the Turbine, although I will admit that Star Flyer you linked is the tallest one in the country which is 70M. I went on it at the Nottingham Goose this year.

Crazy mouse and the booster on Brighton Pier are proper **** your pants scary. I have never been so ill after a ride. Ever!

Crazy Mouse? Surely you've been on Sonic at Alton Towers? The Mouse is way tame compared to Sonic, because the track on Sonic banks.

As for me, it's just the dodgems that I can't go on due to medical grounds. I lost an eye a while back and the remaining one is quite weak. 4G to 6G and high speeds in general are ok for me, where collisions involve higher G and can cause retinal damage. Can do all coasters, flats and water rides no probs. As for dying, you are more likely to die on the way to the theme park than actually being there.

The height is one aspect of it. The main one though is that it just doesn't look comfortably safe. Just suspended by chains, not locked in and attached via a gurder or locked to a rail etc.

The 4 chains might break? It's a good job you can't see how small the ceiling ratchet is that holds the 4 chains in place, that people so often trust! :D

The boring **** ones. Heights only bother me when I'm actually standing near a huge drop or on something very tall/high up, where as with rollercoasters, I don't mind.

Pukey ones for me please.

Oh, and ones which look dangerous for me, like the spinning thing with the seats hanging from it. They really won't hold my weight. :p

Petrified before, petrified now. The pictures that came out were horrendous. My mate, arms in the air, happy as a pig in ****, and me... Gritting my teeth, in sheer horror.

Still, it's off my bucket list now.

Seriously?

Rita is a very mild roller coaster, other than being fast it's not much different to driving a car lol.

I'll go on anything really.

I love and hate the ones that just drop you. I always think I'm fine, queue up, get a bit twitchy when I get to the front, get a bit more twitchy when they strap you in.

Then I get really scared on the way up and I'm completely bricking it when I'm waiting for the drop. To the point where I feel a tiny bit nervous thinking about it now.

Then I **** myself all the way down and feel like I'm going to die, and afterwards I feel all shakey but really happy.

Rides that spin me around endlessly, Samurai/Vortex at Thorpe Park come to mind. I have no problems with coasters but when it comes to rides like Samurai I feel weird after getting off.

What car have you got? Must be something pretty special if it hits 60mph in 2.5 seconds and pulls 4.7G.

It's my life goal to go to Cedar Point before I die :)

my ex went on the ride where canada is visibile on a clear day. i stood and watched.

cedar point is a dreadful place though, was really dirty i thought. i personally wont go on anything that goes faster than 20 mph.

None.

Although, I want to conquer my fears when I go on my world backpacking trip in a couple of years. Because not doing any activities like bungee jumping seems a waste.

I'll go on pretty much any rollercoaster, I absolutely love them. My favourite so far was this:

But the one thing I just CANNOT will myself to go on isn't really a ride, its a water slide:

I went on the slide next to it, but I just couldn't pull the courage up to go on "Summit Plummit".

I would also say that Stealth at Thorp Park is a great ride. Fantastic, in fact.
