The complete Sigelei kit is £64.99. How much more might I pay to get separate batteries and charger roughly? Do you actually know if the batteries and charger in the kit are not good?

No but typically they are not good because they are trying to save money. Get a nitecore l2 charger and some AW batteries, cheaper batteries are efest which are also good, you need to get IMR safe chemistry batteries. I would not skimp on batteries because they can explode.

I have scrimped on batteries and charger before (the included ones in the Vaporbreak Vamo kit) and nearly wiped out myself, my wife and our baby son whilst sleeping. Only my phone buzzing alerted me to the beginnings of the electrical fire down the side of my bed...

It's just not worth the risk.

Nitecore i2 you can get for about £15 off eBay, good charger and popular.

I got a pair of each, 18650 and 18350 from Torchy The Battery Boy on Ebay and they were I think £11 and £8 for each pair respectively and are pretty solid batteries.

I might get some Sony 30a ones soon and play with sub ohm a little bit. Can't find an amp limit for Torchy's own batteries so currently won't go below 1.0-1.2ohm just to be sure.

iirc you can get the Sony 30amp VTC4 battries off Ebay for around £15 for 2.
My neighbour got some just before xmas and has been going mad with sub oHm builds since lol

Thanks for the advice guys! Ok then, so I'm going to go find these various batteries and the Nitecore i2 charger.

Now then, I have some options. The cheapest I've found the Sigelei ZMax V5 on it's own is £59.99 at vape escape. It doesn't mention if it comes with the extended bottom cap. I assume it does.

So that's only a fiver cheaper than the full kit. For £5 more (£64.99 at innovapours), the full VMax Z5 kit also offers a protank style clearomiser and a free 6ml bottle of juice (and extended bottom cap). Would it make sense to buy the full kit then, but discard the charger and batteries and use the ones you've recommended?

Or I could just buy the ZMax V3 standalone for £49.99 also at vape escape, which says it does come with the extended bottom cap.

I'm not sure how useful the mobile phone charger would be to me that comes with the V5, so other than that, is the V3 just as good as the V5?

edit: The Nitecore i2 and i4 don't mention compatibility with 18350 batteries, only 18650. It says Compatible with: Li-ion 26650, 22650, 18650, 17670, 18490, 17500, 17335, 16340(RCR123), 14500

My iTaste SVD died yesterday so I'm back using a Vamo.
The damn button just lost it's spring. I'll try disassembling it and maybe replacing the button but it looks to be surface mount from the pictures I've seen of the internals.

If I can't resurrect it, what mod should I replace it with? I like VV/VW as I vape lots of different flavours that need different wattages to taste just so. I don't like the feel of the Vamo in the hand but it will do for the minute until I decide what to buy.

If it's the kind of button I think it is, you can get them on the bay for very little. Even though they are surface mount, they're easy to solder. Note that I haven't actually seen an SVD button in the bare, just assuming

Merlin5, Nitecore i2 and i4 work fine with 18350s

The nitecore will charge an 18350 just fine, an 18350 is basically half an 18650 (or there abouts) ;)

+1 for the Torchy battery boy recommendation, I bought 2 Torchy 18650's for my Vamo and vaping normally I get about 2 1/2 days out of each battery.

Thanks guys, that's another thing solved then!

So I've found these torchy batteries. NirK mentioned they need to be IMR safe chemistry batteries. I found a pair of Torchy flat top 18350 850mAh for £7.99, most likely the ones PardonTheWait bought, they're blue coloured and it says they are IMR.

The Torchy 18650 pair is £10.49, probably also the same ones that he bought, but there's no mention of IMR, it just says,

'2 x Torchy 2600mAh Button Top 18650 3.7v Li-ion batteries + protective case. Excellent quality. High voltage/power output almost identical to Sanyo and Samsung, actual tested capacity 2677mAh.' Will they be fine and is there any limit to the mAh that a mod will take, as I noticed I could buy a Torchy 18650 at 3400mAh for £18.

Also in the end I just ordered an Igo L dripper, for the price I forgot the looks.

Hey W!ll, don't know if you're interested in buying another dripper if you're not keen on the aesthetics of the IGO-L, which I'm not either. I think I've pretty much decided to go for the IGO-W instead which is an update on the L apparently. It's really nice looking, simple clean modern styling. Should go well with the look of a Sigelei. It has 3 posts with holes which suits me, can be set up for single or dual coil (single suits me) and has a well that can hold liquid. I've also checked out the IGO W3 and W4, slightly larger, they look quite nice but I'm not keen. The IGO-W cheapest I've found is £9.95

According to this guy, it has a very tight draw.

I have IGO W, excellent dripper, but WILL need the air holes drilling larger. Easy to rebuild and if you use Microcoil(s) with cotton, then it's just a matter of seconds to swap the wick out between flavour changes.
I've added a custom 22mm Topcap to match my JM22 mod - it's a 19mm atty, so it doesn't fit flush on anything larger, but don't let that detract from an otherwise excellent dripper.
The W4 has 4 negative posts for Quad coil builds - I wouldn't recommend this as a: you'll need arms like an octopus to properly coil it (multi coil builds are best done with 1 continuous piece of Kanthal) and b: You'll likely want 30A batteries as the resistance will almost certainly be sub ohm.
It's a silly dripper, aimed at Cloud Chasers, rather than decent warmth & flavour...

Right my wire and wick order came today. Built a coil in the kraken and to be honest it's pretty rubbish, gets very hot with not enough juice coming through as I get a burnt taste. Will try and rebuild this again alter with mesh/ekowool combo and see if I can get the coil tighter to the wick which should yield better results.

Just rebuild a protank coil though bit on the high side at 2.1 ohms but otherwise works like a charm! Can see myself spending some time messing around in the near future.

Cheers for the dripper heads up, think I'm going to try the Igo L first and see how I find it, next purchase if any will probably be a rebuildable bottom wicking atomiser....

i have a kraken clone on order, will be my first RBA but i think its a step in the right direction. Ive been vaping for over 2 years now and the pro-tank isnt cutting it any more.

Yeah, I think I'll buy organic cotton balls. Having watched a couple of video reviews, yeah it does seem the IGO-W needs drilling but I have no means to do that. Where can I get it drilled on a drill press, or does someone on this forum do drilling?

Managed to find some fluid on the market in the town Center in the end. I got Cola, cherry and energy drink flavour lol just to try. It's Shisha stuff and doesn't make me wheeze thankfully :)

I think you could probably do it with a file, jewellery file or soemthing

Well I have not done it, but if you cannot get a drill then it would probably work.

I've got an old black and decker drill in the shed with some drill bits which would be way too big. Also, I don't have a vice to hold a tiny dripper in so I'd either mess it up or drill my finger.

Having very little joy with my Protank 3 - it arrived and I spent a morning with it on my SVD, all seemed good although it was 'popping' a bit, loudly but not enough to spit juice.
Then the next day, things got progressively worse until it started leaking on to the pin on my SVD.

I bought a pack of 5 replacement heads, and thought I'd give them a go just in case it was a duff head or two shipped with the Protank 3. Nope, no such luck. Going to let the last heads burn out too and then go back to using the regular Protank 1 heads.
