What film did you watch last night?

Just got back from 47 Ronin, I really enjoyed it, 7/10. Worth watching IMO.

The storyline was pretty standard but the action scenes were good, Keanu Reeves was just Keanu Reeves.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Much preferred this to the first one but also saw this one at the cinema rather than at home and the scale definitely helps with a film like this. It's not Lord of the Rings but I have high hopes for the third instalment. 7/10

mavity 6/10

Didn't get what all the fuss was about.

The completely wrong physics of it all kept bugging me too, and the convenience of how near everything was too.

Its not about being a film buff.

Its recognizing great acting and a fantastic script...and brilliant nuance of characters.

It's a fine film in it's own right, but some people have taken it upon themselves to promote it as the best film since Citizen Kane (which is another hugely, vastly overrated film)

Pitch Perfect. It's Bring It On with singing instead of cheerleading and with a worse script. Still, the soundtrack is pretty solid and Anna Kendrick is pretty.

American Hustle 8/10

Thoroughly enjoyed it, very strong cast with some great performances.

Amy Adams, in those dresses.....SOOOO much hotter than Jennifer Lawrence in anything.

The editing and production of CK was years ahead of time though..But I take your point:)

I actually enjoyed it:o:p

Ha I really enjoyed pitch perfect... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.

I just found the script incredibly patchy... I mean, the story is your standard outcast competition triumph over adversity story, so that's safe ground and you know exactly where it's going to go and what is going to happen, but the actual script was weak. Too many of the lines just weren't funny; it wasn't nearly sharp enough. I watched Easy A the other week, and the script in that was muuuuuch wittier.

Kendrick would totally get it.

Oh yes.

Hnnnggghhhhh.

Pitch Perfect is enjoyable but Easy A is a much better movie as teen comedy goes.

Although Pitch Perfect is basically a musical too and the songs in it are done really well.

American Hustle - Another over hyped pos - Avoid or suffer being board to death for 2hrs.

3/10

An a par with mavity - Garbage

I've not seen either, but based on the use of "board", I would assume that the subjectivity fairy is right on the mark here, and I will probably enjoy both. :D
