Presumably your mumbling was directed into the mic though, which is the use for which those models are intended. You are going to need some very complaint ghosts if they are going to actually speak directly into an SM57 or 58. May as well leave out some song requests and see if they will perform for you while they're at it.

ACTUALLY listening to some of my recorded vocal tracks on their own has everybody laughing.
I have a tendency to grunt & groan between lines which can't be heard within the track or live.
Or perhaps it's ghosts.

I am not saying there dead people,i am saying there an intelligent entity because there speech is clear, and there malicous with an intelligence behind them, you dont know there, there because you cant see them but with the 2 responces i got from the recorder tell me there intelligent and learn about you,there just unable to interact with our realm unless its a poltigieust which are really strong ones, even then i am not sure i believe in the ones that can phyiscally interact with objects, there is a lot of rubbish on youtube with that stuff, i just know when i hear words on a recording device when i was silent has got me a little concerned,why would i make something up like this, what benifit does it have to me if i was?, i am just telling you my real life experience here and want others to try this experiment out them self as i am curious if other people catch something...

Have you ever seen the documentary "The Sixth Sense"? Same thing happened to Bruce Willis, they did a pretty good reconstruction of events.

1) I was not aware that the Sixth Sense was a documentary.

2) I referenced the tape recording in the Sixth Sense back in post #20 of this thread.

3) That coincidence is just so spooky that I think I may withdraw whatever objections I may have raised and go and live on an island somewhere.

4) Do ghosts like islands?

2) My bad. I didn't bother reading most of the replies as I (correctly) suspected they would be full of haters.

I'm pretty sure that if ghostly voices could be captured via a simple audio recorder then we'd know about it, and from a more reliable source than 'Dickybob' from a computer enthusiast forum.
