*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Does TW still lag slightly on the S4 on 4.3? I remember it did on 4.2.2.

I only ask because TW 4.3 on the Note 3 is super smooth and responsive.

Have just got myself an S4, coming from an S2 :)

Possibly stupidly, I let it perform a couple of updates after it came out of the box - before checking this thread!

I'm on:

Android Version:
4.2.2

Baseband:
I9505XXUDMH8

Kernel:
3.4.0-1220396

Build number:
JDQ39.I9505XXUDMH8

SELinux status:
Enforcing

Secure boot status:
Samsung

So... what options have I got for custom firmware and this KNOX thing? Will I trip the knox flag if I flash something else over what I've got?

Ok what the quickest/easiest way to flash to the latest stock rom.

I've got the latest Odin, and downloaded what I think is the latest off sammobile

Tar

Edit:

Open odi,n add MD5 to PDA, boot into download mode and hit start

If you have knox now so anything custom flashed will trip the flag.

Do you mean I do have knox, or are you saying if I have knox... :)

If I've not got a firmware with knox on it yet, I won't update it to the latest official now (and be bugged with the damn update notification every 3 hours...), else if I already have knox installed, I may as well just update it to the latest it's offering me and be done with it.

Hell, it was nearly 18 months before I flashed a custom firmware on my S2 (I did root it sooner than that though)

I assume that if I've got knox, then even rooting it will trip the flag?

Sorry typo, yeah you have the dreaded knox. Look in the download mode you should see it mentioned in the list. And yes anything like a root will trip it.

Thanks - really didn't think when I first started setting up the phone!

Oh well - guess I may as well just update to the latest stock firmware for the moment, and then worry about it if I can be bothered to at a later stage.

Let me get this right.. Knox knows IF you have done anything suspect (like root, custom rom, etc), it does not or will never STOP you doing any of those.. ? Seeing as many of us will no longer have any warranty anyway short (12+ months) I dont see the problem with Knox provided it doesnt restrict us doing anything.. Am I right?

Perhaps not.. I particularly dont like the fact that they can stop you upgrading to any future versions if you trigger it.. ?
