What film did you watch last night?

50k and a call girl - Don't be deceived by the title of this film, its not seedy, I didn't have high intentions of this film but it turned out to be a really good indie flick, about a guys travels to accomplish his bucket list before his death.

There were elements of this film which made me think, crap, is this real? the fact that the characters used their own names in the film, the way it was filmed (documentary style), and the fact that there were some public faces blurred out someway throughout the film.

Even some of the reviews were questioning if it was real, but pretty much the reviews were also agreeing with what I thought of the film, very well planned, well filmed, and well executed.

Anyway I give it 7/10

Having watched Pitch Perfect a couple of weeks ago, we watched Bring It On. Pitch Perfect is basically Bring It On with singing instead of cheerleading. Bring It On only scores 5.9 at imdb while Pitch Perfect scores 7.3, and I'm baffled as to why. Bring It On is much more consistent and has a vastly better script.

Because Kendrick > Dunst.

Oh, and contemporary songs are easier for people to relate to than cheerleading.

Bring it on - Due to reading this thread.

I found Pitch perfect to be surprisingly good.

I turned off Bring it on after 30 minutes. Tripe.

Lies.

Because Kendrick > Dunst.

Truth. Now Eliza Dushku on the other hand...

Quite possibly.

The Intouchables

French film about a wealthy tetraplegic man who hires a guy from the projects as his carer. Very funny and based on a true story. Recommended.

9/10

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
1/10

The 1 was for the 20 minutes which featured Tom Hardy's story.
Other than that, this movie was one heck of a borefest.
If it didnt have the Tom Hardy story, then I'd give it 0.

The acting was fine.
The direction was fine.
The problem was the storyline - unbelievably boring.
I honestly can't believe it was made into a movie, with such a recognisable cast. Surely there must be other stories or books which could made into a movie?

Ender's Game

Fantastic but why was it so damn short, every scene felt completely rushed. should have stretched it beyond the 2 hour mark (although I guess the studio thought otherwise, idiots). Great but completely let down by the run time.

Lol ! One of the best spy thrillers ever is boring

Read the book and it all makes sense ! Its a fairly long story and I guess there just isn't enough time in the film. The TV series does a good job with more time

Love the film though excellent acting and captured the grey dull 80's really well too!

Sixteen Candles. From what I've read, this reviewed really well way back in the 80s. It must be a product of its time, because I thought it was guff. It was utterly bizarre.

I watched Ten Little Indians on tele the other night. The 70's version. I love the earlier versions, and the story, but this version was pretty bad tbh. Oliver Reed was just taking the ****!... He clearly couldn't care less.
