It's definitely a lighter cable, you don't even notice the headphones have a cable attached when in use. Other than that, it's stronger than the Fisual but not as flexible (Fisual is like silicone) due to the braiding but it does bend into any shape.

No difference in sound (obviously) - I got it as it's shorter for desktop use, the Fisual is 3m so will be used for other stuff. I got this because it's the other brand everyone has been flapping about online being amazing quality. I agree, it is a quality cable and at £10.50 imported, better built than most others bought in the UK.

Ah, I see. What length did you get?

He won't post though, so I've managed to hopefully rope someone in to driving to get it for me as he's 30 miles away, and then I'll courier it to me. Bit of a wait but will be lovely when it arrives.

Now I just need new fronts. Still really want some RX6s but Mrs would kill me. I was going to pick up some Kef IQ5SEs as you can get them cheaply now for what they are but think I'll hold back until I can persuade the powers that be.

Who is that made by?

It's a new company from Holland call Redged. (it actually says on the bag but its black and hard to see from phone photo)

I was after a tripod for travel, I already have a Gorillapod but it cannot take the weight of my 5D3 and 35L so want something that fit the following criteria.

I don't carry a camera bag on my travels, just a messenger bag for discreteness so the maximum length of the tripod when folded has to fit. A standard messenger bag is about a length of a magazine, a piece of A4 paper is 297mm so my limit is 30cm, any longer the tripod will have to go in at an angle which would not be comfortable when carrying it through out the day or it may not fit at all.

The other element is that it should open up to a reasonable height, as these tripods are not exactly cheap so it should serve more than a table top tripod. I found one that is 9.8" tall when folded and 800g – Mefoto Daytrip, but it is only 24" when extended so limited in use.

There are many various others on the market around 32 to 40cm, from aluminium to carbon fibre, from 800g to 1.6kg (all class as travel tripods. They ranges from £150 to £700. Only 2 on the market that I've found pass the 30cm test. This one I got and the Sirui 025 (but discontinued), the 025x is the replacement which is 800g but 32cm, although can be made less than 30cm if the ball head is detached (a hassle really). Although the Sirui does not have as good weight limit for holding my camera.

So in reality, this is the only one that fits, it is 400g heavier than the Sirui but it fits in my bag without dismantle, it has a built in Monopod (centre column and 1 leg combined), it has spike feet, it can handle 8kg (3 times the limit I needed it for).

It is amazing what they can make these days, my other Manfrotto tripod is twice as long when folded and weigh 3 times as much.

You'd be better off with RS6 fronts as they will match the RS centre better.

Have you just moved in or do you prefer minimalism to having random bits of crap in your home? :D

Want the lounge and dining room to be very bare, all the AV gear is in the hallway cupboard behind the TV.

Only moved in 2 months ago and first home so need to get a canvas or something for the wall behind the sofa.

Here's all the AV stuff hiding.

I've been considering buying one of those Microservers but I'm not sure. If you buy them at the right time they work out about £100 after cashback. Might just buy a Synology NAS though

Genuine question, most of your purchases posted seem to revolve around Chelsea. Is there really that much to read about Chelsea?

I've only bought a few, most of the ones I post here are space related. There are some interesting bits of history and I'm interested in how the club was and looked before the sixties.

Really good for the money, I have one running XBMC and another for storage and backups. I got both when they were doing the cash back deal so around £90-105 each.

Yeah I want one for storing work on, notes on etc but also images. It wont be that much so I may just buy a NAS. That way I can portforward and host all my PC Diagnostic programs so I can just grab them from that if I forget my USB stick.

Check out hotukdeals - they're on sale at the moment at £90 odd quid after cashback (so £190 - £100 cash back).

I don't think you're going to get one cheaper.
