No, it's just me, I'm fat!

Need to loose 9 KG according to BMI calculator

However saying that, during my 'fittest' years late 20's to early 30's
I was around 94 KG.

I'm somewhere around 5'7" and I weigh 75Kg at the moment, I think. I've got dinky legs and a lot of torso, though, and fairly broad shoulders. BMI puts me on the borders of being overweight.

I think I'd be doing well if I got down to 70Kg.

Best set of scales is a mirror IMO.

You could be technically overweight and still look great - weight trainers for example.

Saying that, this doesn't apply to me, going to try and loose 5KG, lots of hills around here and 5kg is a lot of ballast.

Losing weight can effect power if you are losing muscle mass rather than fat. The pellet on goes from Greiple to Quintana; the former has more peak power and the latter has better PWR. Wonder how they compare on FTP.

Ouch, sorry to hear that mate!

Some of the post surgery pictures on google are a little scary! From what I understand it's quite common, more than anything it's frustrating as I was hoping to get in a really solid training regime ahead of the triathlon I'm doing in August.

Anyway, have been aware of it for a little time and it hasn't stopped me playing football, cycling etc, from what I understand it's minor enough to not be an immediate problem. Should hopefully be a few opportunities to get out on the bike between now and whenever the op is.

I had to wait ages for the op when I had it done. Was a few years ago when I wasn't into cycling so the lack of exercise didn't bother me.

Two weeks off work was nice though.

I'd like to get down to 75kg before I go riding over some hills in Belgium in April

I've put weight back on since getting into cycling. I mostly do distance running so have little fat or muscle mass. I'm 5'7 and last Christmas I was down at 48kg and now I'm back up to 55kg and improving my performances all the time.

Anyone know of a website that lists decent cycling friendly cafés? Or like a site with a searchable map or something?

I'm route planning...

5ft11.5 and weigh 99KG currently, and have very little power. Hills are hard work.

Down from 121kg though, bmi has just gone into the overweight categry this last week. No longer 'obese' yay! Weight is still dropping too

Always been quite heavy for my size, didn't look like I weighed over 120kg. Big thighs, must be some muscle in there somewhere
