Well, it varies depending on time of day and whether or not the kids have been dropped off at the pool.:p

If I can't seem to go lower is that my body telling me it would be unhealthy to do so?

How can you tell that I'm underweight if you've never met me! I'd be fat if I was 70kg!:p

Anyway, being lighter is beneficial to both cycling and rock climbing.

Speaking of bodyweight, I can't seem to drop below 59kg for any amount of time. I can for a bit but then I feel a bit weak and my appetite seems to go into overdrive so I eat myself back up to 59-60kg.

Does this mean realistically I can't maintain a weight lower than 59kg or do I somehow need to discipline myself not to pig out (and improve my diet)? I don't want to be light to the point where I'm weakened by it.

I don't think losing weight will really affect your power levels, look at the pros for instance. They'll be going into a 3 week tour at 3 or 4% bodyfat. Your energy levels will probably be affected by eating less food but I don't think your body composition will have a major impact.

I seem to hover between 67 and 68kg when I'm not training and a steady 66kg when I am. Dropping below 66kg seems beyond me without proper commitment but aiming to go in to the Fred Whitton at closer to 65kg. Don't think I'll be able to maintain it after but ever kilo will count on that day I reckon!

Currently 179cm with virtual FTP of 238w so 3.57w/kg. Would like to hit 4w/kg by summer. I've almost completed my first 6 week block of TrainerRoad this year and think my retest should push me back above 250w so that's a start.

£230 worth of chains and locks. :)

It's a shame we live in a world where we need such devices :( Hopefully they never get put to the test.

It might not affect power levels, but it may well affect fatigue and ability to recover and therefore train effectively if you drop to a weight that leaves you feeling washed out all the time.

Ultimately, best thing is just to listen to your body - it's generally pretty good at making it obvious when things aren't quite right.

For me, i can sit around the 63kg mark (i'm 5'9") during winter pretty easily, and i eat pretty much whatever i want and lots of it. Come summer when i'll probably be doing an extra 4+ hours a week on the bike i'd expect that to drop to around 61kg, but not any lower than that really. Nor would i want to.

Saw my gp, I have an inguinal hernia that requires surgery. They recommended 6 weeks off exercise post surgery :(

I can relate to that :(

I had almost two months off after my craniotomy. Sitting around the house, bored out of my skull (pun not intended), wishing I could go out and ride.

I lost quite a lot of my fitness over that break. Hope it all works out!

almax security chains by any chance? the MK4's ? I got the MK 3
brilliant chains

EDIT//

they look to small in diameter to be almax ones

@ one more solo

did you get my email about the mud guards?

No, from Pragmasis. The Protector chains, those are the 13mm ones. 2x 2m chains, with keyed alike locks.

I was going to get 1x 3m 16mm, but I was advised that two smaller chains would be more secure (and for my set-up, two chains is easier as I'm locking up 3 bikes).

They're pretty hefty chains!!

I used to be the same.
Weight training bulked me out.

Currently overweight at 99KG, I would be happy to get to 95KG.

(same height as you)
