Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 12th February 2014]

What does that even mean?

Exactly what it says. You can play the way Arsenal have been playing against teams this season but when it comes to a game like this, in a game that matters, at 2-0 down at 10 minutes you'd expect the manager to try and change something. Like bringing the defence further back, trying to slow the game down. Getting them to not play so far up when that tactic has just cost them 2 goals before the game has even had a chance to begin. Not do absolutely nothing except sit in the dug out looking like a deer that's about to be run down. The players have been pitiful today but it's as much about tactics. This game should have been a smash and grab on the counter attack like when we played Dortmund.

I just hope they can get something right for the next games in our month of death.

Mert, what is he doing, I don't care if he is offside or not, play to the whistle, if it didn't get called then that was 6-1 because Mert is a douche. How is it Liverpool make like 2 passes forward and its someone running directly at goal with 1 or 2 defenders of ours miles apart.

Thing is, we really aren't pushing forward in attack, the fullbacks have provided nothing offensively, yet haven't been available defensively. The central midfield players aren't pushing into the box at all, but aren't back to help defend. They are neither, you either need to push forward as a team and try and score, or you need to stay back and defend, as a team. This not quite forward, absolutely not defence setup is just woeful.

Once again it was one cross from 10 yards into our half and there were in a situation of almost being through on goal.

What the hell would a striker do, you got wrecked in midfield surprisingly and when SaS the ball your defence could do nothing. Exactly like I said, your midfield neutralised Suarez and studge at Emirates, not very much to do with your defence

We still need a striker though, even if we take such a hammering, a striker will still get us some goals, none of the strikers at arsenal have the capability to come out and score like saurez, aguero etc.

I don't think it's the lack of a new striker that has let us down. The whole team were just bad today.

Yep we didnt turn up at all today, nothing to do with a striker or lack of one. Pretty sure if we had a decent striker, we would still be 5 goals down :(.

very bad day at the office for sure. Stirling nearly scored a beauty then..ghosted past 2 people and opened his body. Looked like Henry..
