eSRAM the reason Xbox One struggles with 1080p?

Well no, because they don't. As I said not all internet connections are equal.

It's not being anal, it's pointing out that what you said isn't remotely true.

You know what I'm saying you just trying to eliminate a positive what console online gaming has over PC.

PC also has internet connection differences, they cancel each other out.

I couldn't care less, I enjoy consoles and PCs...

You're just saying stuff that isn't true which is what I'm responding to.

Rubbish - it was constant on here about getting multi platform games on Xbox as they were higher res etc and people squealing with delight over the PSN hack and customer firmware piracy etc etc.

I'll keep my roll eyes and suggest you take your MS blinkers off.

Regardless your predominantly 360 forum is now a predominantly PS4 forum...

I remember those early days as well.. it was quite rampant but it did calm down eventually , every now and then reference was made to it, it continued over at lens of truth and digital foundry for years when such an such game was better on the 360.

its going to happen, anyhow shoe is on the other foot now and ms has the work to do instead of Sony but overall I do sort of agree with what he said.

I also agree, this thread isn't going to end well...

I'm not missing the point at all, your argument is just flawed.

Skill is one factor, internet connection is another, TV size and how close you sit to it is also another.

People just aren't all on a level playing field at all when it comes to consoles.

They have parity in terms if software settings, so you can't have some people turning down the quality to make enemies more visible or disabling shadows etc..

you eliminate frames per second discrepancies too. So its a fixed platform where everyone has the same visuals, ...

You don't have to tell me how it works, I know how it works.

I was pointing out that it's incorrect to state that everyone on consoles is on a level playing field, because it simply is incorrect.

Its way more level than the PC. Like, vastly so.

Wow another car crash of a thread.....

Are you trying to make the thread worse?
Sometimes people disagree, get things wrong.. and so on. It's a discussion, so unless there is an infraction.. let it be...
When people don't like the subject (or more accurately the conclusion), they seem to act up, and generally do their best to shutdown dialogue by getting the thread closed.
I'm not going to say anymore on the matter as I don't want to assist you in derailing the thread further, however I felt something should be said.

LOL have you even read the last 30 posts, the thread was derailed long ago, stop being so precious.

Just ignore him, he always jumps in a with a bit of bait in most threads.

I'm not sure how the thread has gone from XB1 eSRAM to arguing about a level field between PC and PS4... I would agree that the PS4 does have a more level playing field than a PC, it's not just about internet connection or TV input, or lagg. The simple fact is as someone has pointed out, on PC you can turn off certain aspects which may give you an advantage, fact. On PC if you have a terrible setup you have to turn the settings down, giving you poor details making it harder to pick a tree out never mind a little guy with a big gun hiding in a bush. And don't forget the severe mouse lag you get when you try running higher settings than your graphics card can handle. If you have a killer setup then you have none of these problems and you have a massive advantage, if you say otherwise you are deluded.

That is all on that, let's get the thread back on track :)

As for eSRAM and the XB1 catching up to PS4 because some dev says they will be getting better kit, it's not going to happen sorry. Yes it will get better and I look forward to it. But when it comes to Multiplat the PS4 will always win, if the devs make the most of it, that is.

Edit... I do look forward to the exclusive XB1 games though, the devs should make use of everything at their disposal, so I think then and only then will we really see what it can do.

The argument was that the consoles are a level playing field, not "more" level. Which is simply untrue.

As for settings, you'd be surprised but people often turn settings down intentionally to the point where the game looks awful, but it helps other players stick out really vividly, which is another part of consoles being a level playing field just being untrue.

As for the Xbox One, I understand why people are complaining about the hardware, with the fact that it's the expensive console and all that, but for those who aren't interested in Playstation games, it's irrelevant how much they differ anyway.

It's like the PS Vita versus the 3DS, the PS Vita's visuals are an order of magnitude better, however for those that are only interested in the Nintendo exclusives, it doesn't matter, though I have both for my fix of Nintendo madness, and portable luxury visuals.

The Xbox 360 had a better GPU than the PS3 but nothing on 360 comes close to the last of us on PS3 or anything else by naughtydog tbh.

Having a more powerful GPU does not always lead to better looking games. Whether that happens with these consoles who knows.

That was in part due to the Cell chip, we've been talking about multiplatform releases though.

I used to be a heavy pc gamer and I'm aware of what can be done to make your opponent easier to see etc.

I disagree with your comments regarding consoles, you can't turn anything down, or up, or anything of the sort, so in that respect I don't understand how you can say that they are not on a more level playing field than a pc.

Exactly. With an exclusive it doesn't have to compete with PS4 and the devs will exploit the hardware, including eSRAM, to the max.

How can you say you disagree with his comments when what you're disagreeing with is not what he is saying. Read the flaming post you've quoted in your reply.

Rusty, I've had a look at the post and I can't see where the issue is.
