all but one I know that had a 360 or a ps3 went for ps4. So all sorted, it wasn't the resolution that mostly made up their mind, it was the price. One had admitted the additional power is sorta nice, but they sll got one purely down to price truth told..

and all versions of this game look good imo.

Yeah it sure does, but last gen it was not as good as XBL and the mic they bundle with the PS4 is pretty pap, plus most of us have a good few years of Live already paid for.

Is that ok with you?

Personally, I'd prefer the higher framefrate regardless of the game. Whilst I accept there is a difference between 1080p and 720p, if I'm engaged in a game I'd likely not even know if I was playing in one or the other.

For the record, I don't own a Xbox One or a PS4.

I think Xbox is just fashionable due to the success of Xbox 360, my relatives teenage son and his schoolmates all got Xbones for Christmas. I expect they'll steadily move to PS4 when the penny drops.

Or maybe it's a situation like WoW where you want to leave but you're tied into it due to online relationships, the hardest part of leaving WoW for me was knowing I'd be turning my back on everybody I had met along the way.

Sometimes it's all about playing with your mates though. I personally wouldn't touch the X1 with somebody else's as I see it as barely an upgrade but they are more likely to enjoy the experience if all their mates have the same console I guess.

Or maybe they're quite happy with what they've got. Have you considered that as a possibility?

Of course it's a possibility, they're both possibilities. Some people buy stuff because it's fashionable, some buy it because it's what they want and they've had an actual think about it.

Look at the amount of people who buy Apple stuff just because it's Apple and they use them as fashion accessories?
 
Watched the video, as a PC gamer, PS4 version clearly looked much better. One of the reasons I went PC was not due to the immense detail. I just like nice clean lines and a telephone wire not to look like a lightning bolt. The extra power for the increased resolution will definitely become more apparent over the next couple of years. 4K TV's will start popping up here and there this year, more next and year after etc but i'd much rather have 1080p scaled up than some weird res barely above 720p. I can already see the difference in that comparison video clearly on my 1080p screen and no console should be making cutbacks this early.

I do like the fact now that no games comparison can be made (even by the developers), have it re-posted and then not have the OP accused of starting debates. They can't help it that the PS4 has more power, they simply use it and it shows!

And for the 'I don't care about graphics' crowd, great but for me, better graphics immerse me in a game more just like the sound, gameplay is always a necessity but for me its a combination not just any one part and I want each part to excel.
 
Well out of the video the only real conclusion I thought was how good the PS3 version still looks even compared to the current gen :)

So because you have already paid for what's a fre service on PSN you decided to throw good money after bad to keep the circle going? Prob shouldn't have bought xblive in advance as this wasn't prudent for obvious reasons. And you paid more up front to pay more later too. So I'm not really buying into the ' we already paid more and are determined to pay even more for an inferior experience'. Cost would always push ypu towards ps4...

as for playing online. Not sure what the beef is with the ps4, but I'd rather play online with my mates in 1080p 60 fps then 30 fps or 720fps.
 
Multiplayer isn't free on the PS4. Why do you even care what console he has anyway? This has absolutely nothing to do with MGS; are the mods ignoring the console forum now?

You shouldn't ignore the way he said it though, he suggested that you can only play online with Xbox Ones, by saying he got it because he wants to play online, and then got defensive when I asked him what he meant.

I'm not even contesting the choice of console he made, it's irrelevant to me, I haven't even got one of the new consoles.

There's a lot in the Xbox crowd who like to think that somehow playing online on PSN is impossible with no way to find friends whilst pretending the dozens of free games you get don't exist.
