Done some practice laps of Watkins Glen, one of my favourite tracks. I'm in the 1:48.5's at the minute, but I think I've got some more time in me.

oh yeah, with the spectator mode you need to have the content to watch o.O lameee!!! mate was streaming another race yesterday but stopped just before the start as it was causing issues, so went to spec him/stream for him and was gunna cost me £38.95 xD haha! nah.... I didn't want to watch that badly ;)

Really enjoyed Watkins Glen last night.

Didn't qualify so I started 24th, finished 11th. Should've been 8th but a last lap idiot put an end to that.

Apparently, making one move off the racing line to cover the inside of a corner is considered "blocking all down the straightaway"

And the bright red lights on the back of my car are no indication that I've applied the brakes so feel free to run into the back of me.

On the upside I knocked .75 seconds off my best practice time.

nice barmy :D yeah I'm worried I'll be that guy ;)

nah I didn't race yet :o did a few oval complete practice sessions running about 40+ laps in each. brought my time down a little bit I think but also getting used to running for extended periods of time ;) probably could have done more laps but did take a few slow laps here and there to answer my phone, text (phone while driving... terrible I know ;) ), have a drink, nom down some mini eggs :p

my SR in oval has gone up nicely though, almost at the 3.0 mark :D (2.9 something or like 2.89? ;) ).

really gutted now that the mazda track isn't laguna anymore :( tried the crazy small track and it just seems too mad for me! pretty damn narrow, lots of bends, road camber in all bloom directions xD spent more time in the grass than on tarmac.... then I did give it one lap then rage quite lol xD

on the plus I found out how to change the HUD (relative, lap time, pit stuff) :p and also kinda playing about with the FOV.like... I like the default FOV as gives a reasonable view out from the car and on the one window you're next to, but I "think" I was holding my racing line better when I put it all the way in so the steering wheel was invisible, but then I have like no peripheral vision so makes for dangerous times if other cars were there :p I have the ikea corner table top with the wheel on the curved edge and the monitor set pretty far back into the corner (about 1-1.5m from my face?). I know really it should be as close to my face as possible really but there's keyboard there and don't fancy moving it every time I want to switch up games :\ using a benQ XL2420T 120Hz ;) maybe I should get another two and have the surround and not worry about it xD but I do rock a constant 120Hz with vsync on :D

that's another point..... there doesn't seem to be much in the way of graphics settings :\ is this really as pretty as the game gets? xD

Nice one Barmy, always feels nice when you shave some seconds off your best lap :D Once I get to 4.0SR in D License I will be buying all the RUF series as it looks like fun :D

Sasso - So you got to nearly 3.0 without even running a race? Thats good going tbh :D

The grand touring cup is at laguna seca this week and you can race the MX5 Cup, but I think you need a SR of 4.0 in rookie class.

Street Stock is at Charlotte again which is nice to gain some SR at, as long as you get through the first 3 or so laps you are usually good. However I got taken out on lap 2 last night by a blinking car

hehe yea, just running TTs and giving me +0.03-0.09 per event (last two were 0.09 and 0.08...which was nice :) )

ah yeah, well my SR from road is still casually sitting on 2.5 as I know it will go down the moment i TT or race on road lol xD

clan mate said he's gunna re-sub tonight so think we were planning (well I was at least) to do some drafting prac so he can show me the ropes, maybe a race :D

nice mate, I really need to start running some TT's, how many laps on a road race are needed for a valid TT?

I might be on tonight so might be able to finally join you :D

Did my first Glenn race last night started 10th finished 4th. There was 4 of us racing for places 9th-5th at one point. I was at the back of the train and kept my distance because I could feel something was about to go badly wrong. Inevitably it did they tried to go three wide into the bus stop and took each other out.

The Ruf runs in three series and is a different version in each series.

The Ruf Cup, GT3 and Sports Cars.

I run in the GT3 series.

You only have to buy the Ruf once to get all three variants and some tracks for each series are the same on certain weeks. Over the course of a year you'll probably need 90% of the road tracks to race every week anyway.

So I'd buy the Ruf and whichever 5 tracks you'd need for when you start racing. Then add 6 tracks at a time so you get the 20% discount.

ummmm no idea on road, not that many I would imagine depending on the track length? like for the oval it was 6 or 10 laps I believe? (going on the timer having "best 10" lap time)

way heyy, yeah apologies in advance for any paint traded :p I'll probably be on TS most evening and have iracing open so just drop a message on either as I might be afk or playing rust or something xD

I love it when that happens :D

I had a guy behind me the other day at Luguna Seca and he was pushing really hard to get past me, in the end I let him go as I knew we would both end up in a smash if he carried on. He then laughed at me over ingame voice as he passed me, I kept quiet and too great joy as I passed him on the final corner as he had spun out and ended up in the wall lol :D:D
