Embarrassing Gamer Confessions

Erm...bought Skyrim, installed it.
Added mods to make it frankly awesome...
Played at most 2 hours, got bored..uninstalled

Farcry 3: see above.
GTA: none of them lasted very long on my systems. Although, Vice City, made it through longer since the music score was awesome.

*edit*
I've just remembered another one. I liked Viva Pinata. I played it enough to get all the xbox 360 achievements for it. :o *hands over man card*

I did this too, I also still remember getting the 50 hour playtime achievement.

I left it on overnight & 20 minutes before the achievement was due to pop, I woke up, so I sat and waited for the satisfaction of 100%'ing Viva Pinata! :D

I have never played any Half Life, despite owning them for the 360 and on Steam. Also I've never even touched a Final Fantasy game and never plan to.

I had the HL boxset and have never played it once!

Only in the last 5 years (of 17 years of PC gaming) have I started to use WSAD as main keyboard controls.

I have a habit of vote kicking stupid players on L4D, more than once I've clicked on the wrong person and they've been booted... oops

In the days of my 128k ISDN connection I had a pretty important iCTF cup final on UT99 for my clan.

We picked a specific map based on the fact that I basically was about the best player on it and could defend on my own, leaving 4 to attack.

At the time of the match my ping went sky high e.g in the high 500ms. I couldn't work out why and had to bow out because of it and we got hammered 10-4 because no-one else could defend the map with any use!

It wasn't until later that I'd forgotten that I was downloading porn on my laptop in another room at the time and that was why my ping was so high.

I played the original Quake using only a keyboard because I didn't know that I could use the mouse

ISDN..... on two computers?! what sorcery is this?!?! I remember it being connected to one PC only in the house unless you faffed about trying to share the connection over coaxial and lan cards xD

I've also too never played either Half-Life games, although I did buy them when they were on sale in Autumn, just haven't got round to playing either of them. I feel left out when I go on Reddit and see all of these HL3 confirmed memes and circlejerks.

  • I've never played any Final Fantasy games.
  • I've never played any Zelda games.
  • I've never played any Command & Conquer games.
  • The only time I ever 'play' Team Forterss 2 nowdays is to idle when I go out or more recently to try and do the Mann v.s Machine and get the Gold Frying Pan that sells for $5,00.
  • I have games in my Steam library that I bought 5 or more years ago on the Steam sales which I still haven't played.
  • I have an amazing PC that can handle the majority of games maxed out, instead of playing games i've not touched in my Steam library I decide to play old Playstation games through an emulator.

I used to knock one off to the lady on the Barbarian box art

Sweet jesus. You've just resurrected a memory I'm not sure I'm comfortable to share on here. Looks like I wasn't the only one. And I thought she loved me  :D

I remember she was a page 3 model so she's definitely wearing more than she usually did.

My BT Home Highway had two separate connections - so we ran two PCs off of it, back in the day :D

Also, the barbarian woman was Maria Whittaker - she had a strip poker game in the late 80s....hehehehe :D

  • I'm one of the 4 people who thought Grand Theft Auto IV was both hilarious and a work of genius
  • Online shooters bore me unless I can snipe from a mile away
  • I don't like Final Fantasy
  • I enjoy watching my friend play Metal Gear Solid as I suck at it
  • Scary games, literally scare me to death but horror films don't
  • I once **** myself, literally, while gaming
  • I rate Pokémon (red / blue) as one of the greatest games ever made
  • Resident Evil was brilliant and all the others were rubbish
  • I get bored of racing games easily
  • I have a very romanticised view of old games
  • I play too much Football Manager (when I was at school we had groups and online chat groups and would just constantly talk football, I didn't even know some of the people's names, just by their clubs)
  • I still maintain a subscription to World of Warcraft, even though I consider myself part of World of Warcraft anonymous (a bit like Alcoholics anonymous)
  • FIFA gets boring after a few games
  • I really enjoyed Diablo 3 and didn't have any problems playing it
  • I dropped out of college to play World of Warcraft
  • I used to phone in sick at work to raid (World of Warcraft)
  • I don't like S.T.A.L.K.E.R or Metro
  • I own almost 200 games on Steam and only play a couple
  • I love the Sims games and own every. single. game.
  • I find fast paced shooters confusing and boring
  • I find a lot of Indie games dull
  • I rarely tell people I play games
  • I stopped playing Crysis when the floating aliens turned up, never played it since nor any of the sequels because the aliens were / are ****
  • I couldn't get 'in to' Mass Effect and only played the first
  • I enjoyed Max Payne 3
  • I enjoy Skyrim but mainly walked about collecting things
  • I enjoyed Fallout 3 for the same reason
  • I spend hours and hours and hours farming on Minecraft
  • The spiders in Minecraft scare me
  • The only time I ever played Dead Space was in the dead of night in a dark room with my headphones on, I almost had a heart attack and haven't played it since
  • I threw away my original Half Life, Half Life Opposing Force and Half Life Blue shift big boxes and this is one of my biggest regrets in my life
  • I have had more than one relationship breakdown due to my gaming habits
  • I played World of Warcraft continuously for over 80 hours without sleeping and consumed an ungodly amount of energy drinks and fast food and then had to take a week out to recover. Same for the Sims and Football manager although less extreme.
  • I usually always play as a female especially online and many people think I'm a girl, not because I say I'm a girl, but just because I'm always polite and nice (I was just raised that way) and as a result often get lots of free things
  • On from the above, one of the guilds I was in while playing World of Warcraft thought I was a girl and used to give me first dibs on loot and would buy me things despite being on chat programmes with them while raiding and being amazed they didn't figure out I was a guy (never said I was a girl at any point)
