Sorry but I think Xbox defenders is an accurate term. No one is saying, hey Macro you purchased the wrong console. People are not targeting YOU personally. Instead people with less than complimentary opinions of Xbox are posting what they think, and the Xbox defenders can't help themselves.

The resulting inferno becomes entertainment for the faction with the upper hand.

Just moderate this sub forum like the other forums. How hard can that be, when there are established rules that everyone has agreed to? Problem would have ended ages ago if active moderation had been taking place.

You worry too much about whether people will call you a xbox fanboy based on your mod decisions, imo. You were fairly biased before the consoles were released, and that impression is going to stick now, whether you like it or not. Stop wasting time with the "xbox fans provoke PS fans" and "PS fans provoke Xbox fans" and just moderate. Until then, quite a few threads in this section will be boring and full of arguing as people perceive a lack of action/moderation.

I vote for allowing the XBone bashing to go on !! Full sail ahead !!! Stop being so pansy about it all. Its a reminder of how lacking common sense really is. A company with that amount of cash at its disposal, and still able to get it so wrong. It's a worthy discussion.

Perhaps other manufacturers will take note.. Release a sub-par product and you'll end up the laughing stock of the internet.

Microsoft simply didn't understand the world market outside of America & clearly they have bad decision makers at the helm and seemingly oblivious to the changing social trends.

BTW, I'm not a fanboy, just a 41yr old married man with children, who knows a pile of poop when he see's one. ;)
 
Indeed, If I say PS4 is pooh, because it doesnt have a kinect. Who are you to tell me other wise? And same with XboxONE. I may say I think its crap due to resolutions or some other crap. I'm not saying you're an idiot for buying a <Insert console> I'm stating a dislike or an issue. It's the defenders who pick this up as essentially an attack on their choice of console.

But you know...Toughen up! Stop caring!

Wow, lots of butthurt in here.

Funny isn't it, in the Wii U thread (home to Wii U owners/Nintendo enthusiasts) were under what is no exaggeration to say CONSTANT bombardment of trolling for best part of 8 months straight - until the summer last year I and some others started to do our best to deflect it. Eventually the only way to properly deflect it was to create a sales thread, that seemed to help. 8 months of trolling in that thread till that point.

Here's a question - where was the moderation during that 8 months of trolling?

Abuse of Wii U threads = no action, abuse of MS threads = world implodes.

If anything it kinda feels with this amount of "bashing" that PS4 owners have to keep telling themselves how much better their product is, or how much more in can do, its reads like insecurity or something.

Also, theirs was a telling screen shot of how many bash XO threads you started in quick succession, why?...why do you even care as someone and other who state ALL THE TIME, they don't care for the console at all, in any way, yet, here you are, having to post in threads and start threads on it?.

I'm not sure he was referring to owning a PS4 as having the upper hand. I think he meant that as a way of saying the side that started the flaming find it entertaining and easier to carry it on than the 'defending' side. Hence the upper hand.

This thread needs closing btw, it's awful.

Actually that's a good example of what people mean. Your initial post was designed to illicit a response on purpose so you can point the finger when you get one. Thedoc46 is currently trying to the same thing. I find it amusing but I can see why some would get annoyed *shrug*

cu3ed you are literally the most extreme Xbox defender here. Your declaration of owning both consoles (and thus not biased) rings hollow. Here you are time and time again.. defending.. defending...defending.

I'm just curious how long you can maintain this, does it not drain you to care so much?
 
Not got a reason huh, I mean..how many PS4 threads have I started or anything of the sort?....I dont even post that much on here for the time I have been a member.

The irony in your post is that it rings true when you reverse it to apply to you.

And when you deflect every time you are pitted a direct question.

If you don't care, if you feels its such a "poor choice" and nothing to do with you, why are you constantly making threads about the XO?

Why not create some new specific forum rules and sticky them. My thread got deleted but looking at the forum rules I don't think I went against them to my knowledge. Davey I think you are a Xbox fanboi and if you are not Im sure about you having mad bias towards the product that was sold on lies

There shouldn't be any defending of Microsoft's product and they should accept all the criticism they receive.

As said earlier, they released an underwhelming product, forced Kinect on many people when this could have been money spent on the GPU; and to top it off they are making you pay for it.

Microsoft are lucky they have the media defending them as well as they did at launch. They are rightfully going to get torn apart. If it was cheaper than PS4, there wouldn't be half this hoopla about it all.

I agree, I think the problem here due to the success of the 360, is that MS have come over from last gen with a huge amount of arrogance and swagger and that's why they (and their followers) are getting it in the neck.

Just for the hell of it the reason the XO has a lower powered GPU than PS4 is because MS went with DDR3 memory. Back when the consoles were in the early stages it looked like PS4 would have 4GB DDR3. MS went for 8Gb DDR3 (which is pretty cheap and easy to get memory, most even high performance PCs still use it). Sony switched to 4Gb DDR5 gambling on it's speed. MS had to add the eSRAM to the SOC package to up the bandwidth for the DDR3 they had already designed in, the side effect of this was less space/power etc for the GPU although this gave them double the RAM at a sensible price.

DDR5 was prohibitively expensive at this point and a real gamble for Sony, PS4 could have been more expensive that XO. However the gamble paid off and DDR5 supplies were secured at a much better price than expected letting PS4 go with firstly 4Gb DDR5 at a sensible price, and at the (relatively) last minute 8Gb DDR5. By this time MS was committed to what could have been (based on original plans) a similar performing setup with the 8Gb DDr3, eSRAM and GPU and were left with no where to go.

Sony gambled and it paid off, it could have gone the other way and even just before the reveal it looked like they would have to stick to 4Gb of RAM bringing the consoles much closer in practical all up performance.

Not that that has anything to do with anything other than it (roughly, the timeline may be a little topsey turvey) explains why the consoles ended up as they did. XO GPU has nothing to do with Kinect.
