I see your point, Sony were always going to go for 4gb GDDR5 I believe, Microsoft with their all in one entertainment vision HAD to put 8gb in there.

When you think about the memory setups which meant ESRAM or no ESRAM it is quite easy to see how they were caught off guard.

So, I'll put the question out there - do people want more strict moderation (at least for the short term) in an effort to try and kill these arguments that trash too many threads? Does anyone have any other suggestions on what we can do to improve things? Do we need a new thread to discuss it properly? Hell, is there even a problem that needs addressing? I have my own ideas, but for now, I'd like to hear what others have to say.

I think you two should put your heads together and decide what, if anything, needs to be done. If we all start voicing our opinions on the matter in here or any other thread it's going to make more work for you both or in fact, fall into chaos itself with people throwing accusations and getting all defensive.

If you want my opinion, all people need to do is stop bringing up the my PS4 is always going to be more powerful than your XB1 in every XB1 thread. Sure, it's ok to discuss the performance, or lack of, in a multi-platform game thread but stopping the above rubbish is the issue.

Perhaps you do need to be a little heavy handed for a short time. I think you and Will are the ones to decide, personally.

Funny isn't it, in the Wii U thread (home to Wii U owners/Nintendo enthusiasts) were under what is no exaggeration to say CONSTANT bombardment of trolling for best part of 8 months straight - until the summer last year I and some others started to do our best to deflect it. Thats because the majority on here are MS fanboys
 
It does seem like the majority here are Xbox Fanboys, but it doesn't justify the Playstation Fanboys talking smack, and insisting that anyone who buys an Xbox One is a fool, whilst ignoring any reasons that are given, even the ones you just can't argue with, like wanting to play the Xbox exclusives.

If you're a big Halo fan, it doesn't matter how much more powerful the PS4 is or isn't, you're not going to be playing the latest Halo on PS4.
 
Gonna jump in I think with an Xbox one next week, I was going to get a PS4 but I have an established friends list on the 360 so it makes sense + I'm looking forward to Titanfall so win win for me, just what i was waiting for :)

Couple of quick questions for XB1 owners -

Whats the score with DD over optical?
Any news on 3D Bluray support?
 
DD over optical is fixed in the March update.
No news on BR 3D

There is another online retailer matching Gamestops £360 Titafall bundle if you look even though Gamestop has sold out (a the moment) if you're thinking of getting one.
 
DD over optical is fixed in the march update, a long with various fixes to friends list, party system, twitch broadcasting (once the twitch app is updated). The March update really is excellent, I love the machine anyway but its better now :)

I just want GTAV - I held off getting it on last gen consoles convinced they'd never miss the chance to sell a prettier version to everyone again on current gen. So far other than some rumours I'm wrong *sob*

As in the other thread don't forget to update your controllers once you get the update, the null zones and sensitivity has apparently been adjusted although no idea what consensus is if it's better/worse in the real world.

They don't feel that different to me but I think it would be better to try them on a game such as battlefield.

You worry too much about whether people will call you a xbox fanboy based on your mod decisions, imo. You were fairly biased before the consoles were released, and that impression is going to stick now, whether you like it or not. Stop wasting time with the "xbox fans provoke PS fans" and "PS fans provoke Xbox fans" and just moderate. Until then, quite a few threads in this section will be boring and full of arguing as people perceive a lack of action/moderation.

I concur. I don't think anyone is asking for particularly strict or heavy-handed moderation, even on a temporary basis. All I'd like to see personally are the repeat offenders dealt with, because wading through their drivel is becoming quite tiresome. Delete posts, warn offenders, suspend them if the warnings don't work. They'll rapidly realise that it's not worth risking a ban over if they actually feel the effect of the business end of the moderation system rather than having a free ticket to do whatever they want, which they seem to have had for the past few weeks especially. I was genuinely starting to wonder if the mod team had made a concious decision to just let the board burn itself out.

Davey, you've been an ever present on this forum (apart from a small hiatus) and deserve your place here

IMO you are slightly pro Xbox, and I couldn't care less, we've had mods who don't game before and the forum got rubbish.

Stop replying to the thread, mod as you see fit, if we don't like it there will be a thread about it and the dons can act if required.



Guys its an online forum, logon to the ps4 or Xbox and shoot some people from ocuk, this childish behaviour is worse than trashing the thread for fanboyness.

Crack on, moderate and let's talk games.

Davey -Start a thread with your new mod rules, 3 strikes and a ban or whatever, or appoint a pro ps4 don ;)
 
I had a good laugh today when i got the email from game about the titanfall xbox for 279.

The small print bein you had trade in "an Xbox 360 250GB Slim + 5 games, a PS3 250GB Slim + 5 games or a PS3 320GB Slim + 5 games"

A console and 5 games to save 20 quid?? lmao
