jumped on this yesterday for a quick bash. seems to run smoother that it used to (remember some graphical issues I had with SLI before) which is nice :D looks a bit blurred tho :\ did see a thread about sweetfx and this game but dunno if I fancy risking a ban... then again... it's only D3 ;) hardly cheating/gaining an unfair advantage :p

so seems quite a bit has probably changed as my wizard build doesn't work like it used to, it still works but not as efficiently it seems or with the button spamming happiness that I used to feel from it.

basically my rotation was put down a few static tornadoes in a bunch of mobs, pop my diamond skin (think it's called? ) then use my front to freeze everyone in place and also the exploding ability (the 3 explosions from your character). it was that simple.... all I had to do was spam 1,2,3 and LMB for all the abilities.

now the way this build really worked was with the amount of hits and crits it's be getting from the tornadoes and explosions giving me cool down reduction and regenerating mana. It was epic, designed for a group of mobs...the more the better as i'd get more hits/crits meaning my cool downs would refresh even quicker so I could do even more DPS, the frost keeping the enemies from attacking me or moving away from my tornadoes and exploding self. diamond skin more as a buffer incase I missed some with the frost or don't quite get a cool down. also used one of the shield abilities (purple one? :p ) and used teleport as an OH ****, panic button to escape if I was getting over whelmed.... or just dive straight into the middle of the madness ;) diamond skin, bomb, tele, freeze, tornadoes then spam till everything drops xD

is there skill in this build... not much :p just knowing when to run for your life!

but it doesn't work :\ well... it does.....but I'm not getting my CD reductions with hits and such...or atleast I spent quite a bit of time looking at the bar waiting for mana or the cool downs (which seem so much slower).

any ideas on this like if they nerfed that build or if there's a similar build of am I missing something? looking through the passive abilities and there wasn't anything I think I really used. couldn't see a CD reduction on crit or the like... just a flat rate reduction of 20%. :(

Just a heads up, if your already in a clan and apply to another it won't allow you to join. There's one application stuck as the player is in another clan but I have no clue which member it is!

They removed Critical Mass in the last patch, which is why you're not getting the cooldown reduction. I'm not sure what replaced it, but I've been reading about the change this morning as I was looking at updating my build and saw a lot of people mentioning Critical Mass as the one to go for, but then read other posts saying it was gone.

Critical Mass was removed, this is why your build no longer works. That said, apparently wizards are amongst the most powerful classes in 2.0.1 so have a look around for alternative builds.

I've been working my way up, started on Master which was very easy, barely got touched. Torment 1 I'm most of the way through, and despite losing 200 resistance due to upgrading gear, I'm still barely getting scratched. The way I see it is that as I'm playing through each level I should gear up relatively well, giving me a chance and upping paragon levels enough to be able to move on to the next one without too much repeat farming.

The speed at which you can get through the paragon levels now is what I'm most pleased at, seemed very very slow when it first came in and I packed in playing.

So i'm thinking about playing this tonight with a friend, i have a level 60 barb and he has a level 60 monk and barb, both of his characters have a lot better gear than me and he has gained paragon levels and im pretty sure i haven't, if we started again from level 1 would we have to play from the first difficulty setting or could we start on hard more so to speak and level up faster?

Looking to do some uber bosses tonight if anyone wants to join. I only want to take people that have their own infernal machines (at least 3, ideally) though to make it fair to myself and the other people in the group.

You'll also need at least 150k unbuffed damage and a decent amount of toughness as we'll be doing them on Torment 3 or 4.

Well had another play at the weekend, seems i nearly have all legendary equipment.

Torment 3 is exceptionaly hard specially on ACT II.

check it out.

Excuse me if I'm mistaken, but isn't your DPS here a bit low for Torment 3? might be why you find it tough. I'm not sure what the recommended DPS is but I have about 105K and I'm doing alright on T2 at the moment, I will try T3 myself next.

So is this worth picking up now?

I never bothered purchasing due to the issues people had and some of the early reviews but it seems from the latest patch there has been plenty of positives coming out of people (from streams, forums etc)

Is there anyone who still creates new characters and groups up is everyone just grinding legendary items etc?

I have a few friends who played it to death and are no longer interested in playing so wondering if there is actually some low level folk to play with!

If you enjoyed D1 and D2, then it is definitely worth picking up, even if you go through the game solo :) I'm sure there'd be new players in the OcUK Clan though, you could always see if they'd be up for starting new characters and levelling with you.

ahhh thanks for the responses :D critical mass does sound kinda familiar... FFS!!!! why when ever I like something in a game they change and ruin everything! ******* Blizzard!!!! did the same with wow.... was a DK with a blood dps spec.... then completely revamped the talents so blood was then tanking and I had to do a whole new build and learn a whole new order of the 1,2,3,4,5 buttons to spam ;)

to be fair.... my build is still working... would help if I had decent gear haha xD but I'll look what builds are out there

I've never played with CM so I don't miss it, but at the moment with my current build and gear I'm doing pretty well.

there's a special preorder code that supposed to come with any preorder though but didn't see any mention on GMG about it

I couldn't see any mention of anything like that with GMG, and I can only find D3 available in their DVD section. I would prefer to order from there as I know they are good, but SimplyCDKeys have it for the same price and they send out a key.
