If you enjoyed D1 and D2, then it is definitely worth picking up, even if you go through the game soloI'm sure there'd be new players in the OcUK Clan though, you could always see if they'd be up for starting new characters and levelling with you.
Good to know, I enjoyed D1 & D2 and had been playing a bit of torchlight II and Path of Exile as a filler and to stave me off buying D3!
But now the price has come down and the update has came out, looks like the balance will be taking a hit this week!

I vaguely recall someone saying yesterday that 150k+ was 'required' to join him for T3.
Up to 3k dps! (on my new HC Wizard at level 45). Finished Normal and restarted on Expert. Going smoothly so far, takes a little more effort to kill things now.

Got back into this with the update, just mucking around playing solo. My highest level char is 52.
Seems like good improvements, I actually look forward to drops now.

No more CM means no more archon lazors everywhere. 
Haven't really played in months so jumped on with an arcane torrent build and T3 is doable though I could really use more "toughness" to withstand certain elite packs.

Only leveled this wizard to 60 on Saturday, currently at 240k dps with familiar and magic weapon, 80k hp, 800 resist all.
Leveled her up through Torment 1 solo, hit level 60 before the middle of act 2. The only items that I didn't find myself are the belt/zuni's ring and the shoulders.

150k certainly isnt required to join any torment level. I jumped in a torment 6 game today with only 170k DPS. I clearly wasnt doing an awful lot and died quite a bit so left and went for a lower difficulty.
Maybe it was just him being elitist??
How on earth are people getting 150K+ dps? Is it just a sorc thing? My gears quite good, I have more dex bonus on my monk than most people have int on their sorcs who have 3x as much DPS, very confused.
Are Monks just a little underpowered, or supposed to be tanks?

It's not about just stacking a stat. Wizards are strong right now but I have almost 50% crit chance, a huge amount of + crit damage and a 27/28% attack speed bonus. Honestly, it says my dps is 230k with buffs, but that doesn't count in my Thunderfury proc which crits for 1mil every 2/3 hits and all my +dmg to arcane/lightning items either. From the figures I see, I'd say I'm probably at 300-500k dps quite comfortably.
My friends monk is on 160k at the minute. Its all about choosing the right stats (and of course gaining paragon levels)
My character is a level 60(20) demon hunter reaching 170k DPS

Monks are very good, all classes are really.
Try get socketed fist weap each hand with dex and crit damage on each too watch your dps shoot up.
Found a nice legendary chest piece on my demonhunter earlier allows me to summon 3 wolfs together that crit 150-200k per bite each. xD
I would, everyone I know who has this game has said it is a lot better than it was before the patch. Re-install and check it out.

I did have a fairly good WW Barb at Paragon 30+ but I hear this build is now useless?

Every Barb I've seen has been WW since reinstalling. Still, you can change builds on the fly in this.
Another friend is a Barb and its not useless, just needs tweeking as they changed so much. If you look at some guides online it tells you what you need for max DPS or whatever you want.

Yea 170k was through crit and other passive stuff, they new kit they made is awesome aswell
