Ordered a 32 tooth race face ring for the nukeproof, it came with 36 tooth which killed me on a wee ride so me mate gave me a 34 tooth ring which didn't help much. My fitness isn't the worst in the world and my legs are fairly strong as I do squats at the gym at least once a week and am on the exercise bike at home 5 nights out of 7 but I can't ride more than a 32 tooth for my life!

Also ordered some Troy Lee moto shorts off ebay, they were £26 delivered from china so I can garantee there 100% genuine :)

Also trail suspension sag on my 160mm mega? 30% front a back sound alright?

25-30% is the usual range for AM bikes, but it also depends on your shock set-up and riding style / preferences.

I tend to ride more air in my shock (around 25%), but less compression damping. Remember, there's a difference between shock sag, and suspension sag - so check with the your frame's user guide on how much mm shock sag equates to how much suspension sag.

A mate had the same Moto shorts. For all intent and purposes, they are genuine. It has the genuine packaging, labels and you can't physically tell the difference between them side by side CRC bought ones. The only issue my mate found, was that the sizing was grossly off - but that's normal for TLD :(. I had 3 pairs of moto shorts at one point. One which fit perfect, one was so baggy it fell off me, and the other one I had to suck my gut in to squeeze in to.

Just ordered a narrow-wide chainring to switch to a 1x10 setup.
Should i get a clutch mech also or will the ring be enough on it's own to keep the chain in place?

Probably come from the back door of the factory TLD use. That's not particularly uncommon in some far eastern factories.

I suspected as much. Either that, or given how small his size 34" was, perhaps it came from a reject pile. We'll soon find out I guess when this one turns up :D

Agreed the silence alone is worth it, i'm even tempted to remove most of my stay protection now as the chain only touches the very closest section.

To be honest, I'd advise against it. You can still hear a little bit of slap. The dead silence of the clutch + stay wrap is too beautiful to lose. I ran my bikes without for a couple rides, but quickly put the wrap back on. Your frame might be different though.

ugh, I ordered a set of these easton wheels from wiggle and received them today.

Now in March last year, Easton issued an upgrade kit for their hubs - compatible with all Hub models ending in "1". These wheels are supposed to come with M1-221 hubs so I thought "cool, these should be upgraded/upgradable".

Furthermore in the Q&A for the product, someone asked recently if they'd ship with the upgrade pre-applied and the answer given was "I can confirm that our stock has been resolved of this problem." which sounds to me like a "yes".. but i thought well even if they don't, I can get it sent from easton and do it myself. Whatev's

they arrive today and the Hub model is M1-220. A model apparently not manufactured by Easton since early 2010 :(. Arghh.. so now what? I have the old version of hub that was replaced AND upgraded due to design flaws because I assumed wiggle wouldn't be selling 4 year old stock without at least saying so.

Now I have to see if this is covered by their returns procedure.. They don't pay for returns unless they item is faulty or wrong. Hopefully this is classed as wrong, even though it's technically the right wheelset?

Easton posted here and said that applying threadlock to the old nut has the same effect as getting the new locknut kit:
Basically if your wheel is not compatible with the new Upgrade Kit, applying Loctite MS222 to your preload adjuster will keep your bearings rolling smoothly.

If wiggle said the problem was solved, then they should pay for return postage if it has not. Ask them and see what they say about solving the problem?

then they wouldn't refund the delivery surely? Also it looks like it's going to cost a fair bit to send these back - at least £25 with parcelforce

no - wiggle are great with refunds - should be a label in the box the stuff came in. Raise an RMA with them (DSR inside 7 days - no reason needed) and get them sent back - should be no cost to you at all

Do yourself a favour and get some hope hubs on stans rims. Sorted.

Yup, I'll probably go for hopes after this haha. Yeah i've been reading through their returns and they offer free return via collect+.. though the boxes exceed the size limit for the service.

I'll give them an email and see what they say

touch - I saw the thing about loctite but i'm not sure that's the best solution here. I'd rather not spend this much on wheels and have to fix them with loctite!

Back on topic.

I saw the error in my ways, and agree that e-bikes are the way forward, so I'm selling my rigs to get a new 65027"B-Ebike-Endurobike in stead.

I'm thinking of getting this one, any thoughts?

I bought some 650B-e-endurobike27"B specific grips to go with it, has anyone tried these yet?

I also bought myself some lycra to go with it all, I rekon I look rather fetching
