Unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, attack speed is still superb and is what I've been putting paragon points into. I gear mostly for crit dmg and crit chance as you mentioned while trying to keep the resists high. I took a huge dive in toughness last night to gain some damage but I can't say I've noticed the difference.

If you get lucky enough to find 4 pieces of the TR set then that'd be amazing, I'm still waiting to find a second one myself. If you want pure damage, there's a rune for the energy armour that allows you to have another few % crit but you do lose arcane power for it. I run this combo when I don't need frost nova but if I'm playing solo or in a group I don't know, I have to take that away to ensure survivability.

Honestly, I'm not that experience on the wizard, I played a barb when the game came out and completed the original pre-nerf inferno with him a couple of weeks after release.

Mind having said that even though I'm enjoying the game again, it feels like I'm biding time until the expansion. I got so much enjoyment out of the DII Paladin, which is what I'm *thinking* the Crusader will be like..

At the end of the day, the new difficulties are there to offer a challenge to different gear levels but even T1 or T2 give huge increases to drop rates, especially if you group up. What I like about the new tiers is that if you pick the right one, you never feel like you're underpowered.

Already got the chest piece and amazingly it is almost perfect, every special effect is maximum except int and vit which are 20/30 below max roll. Don't think any forzen orb mage could go without the energy tap rune though? What is frost nova useful for? I try and avoid spells that are short range, being squishy and all. :p

No attack speed Omaeka? The quicker you attack the quicker you can crit and build arcane back, often gets overlooked on Wizards.

Had never thought about regaining mana tbf, attack speed is useful for that but what do you think is better? I'm only at paragon 53 and it's either 2.6% speed increase or 13% increased crit dmg. I have played with a few wizards tbf that seem to use the arcane missile signature and at first thought it was a beam until I looked closer, their attack speed was so bloody fast the missiles were maybe a few millimeters apart on screen.

Attack speed has always been exceptional for wizards and for my build it's vital. I use electrocute with the lightning projectile rune and then disintegrate for my secondary. Both do excellent damage but disintegrate gives me the slightly higher dps. I spam disintegrate until I'm out of arcane power then use electrocute to regain it. Only takes a couple of seconds to go to full if you've got decent attack speed :)

Frost nova with cold snap is my "oh ****" spell, since I have no blizzard with this build I have no method of stopping mobs reaching me. If you get phasebeast elites or teleport/vortex elites then frost nova with cold snap allows me to survive it and get away every 7s. In higher difficulties you don't often have the choice of avoiding close encounters.

Whats the general consensus on Barbs? pre 2.0 patch i had all lvl60's except a Barb, i didnt even have one, since the patch i figured id make a Barb for the fun of it and also to farm gear on for my Crusader come RoS ;)

mine has about 60k dps and his gear is horribad, anyone got a decent build suggestion for such low dps?

Im usually electrocute and disintegrate same as you. I love electrocute as it basically costs nothing to cast as your regen it so quickly and disintegrate for my big punch. With ice stuff for crowd control. Sometimes I go ray of frost instead of disintegrate if I really want to stop mobs in the tracks.

I also love archon for ubah damage, however I think that goes with ROS and you are supposed to use black holes as the new super damage.

How do you go about grouping up in this?

I've got a 60 wizard that i have always played alone, not sure what difficulty i should be playing post patch either (56k dps)?

Going to try this tonight, as destroying massive packs with Frozen Orb is admittedly fun, regaining the mana sucks..

Guess I'm farming a hellfire ring tonight then..

Noob question incoming!

What in the hell is a hellfire ring and how hard are they to farm, only started playing like two days ago and after a few hours I've got a lvl 31 Wizard.

I'm thinking of upping the difficulty though as I've been on Normal so far and its just far too easy, fun but too easy :p

Can't look it up in work atm and most of the d3 sites are blocked for some odd reason :/

Have never used disintergrate, anything that makes it worth using over frorb?

A 56k wiz will do fine in t2, not sure about solo but uninterupted your dps is going to be way higher than 56k regardless of anything you use really.

Electrocute is the best signature for regaining mana, and try chaining blizzard in with frorb too if you aren't already... the nostalgia! That along with running around in Tal Rasha is making me feel 10 again. :D

A full high end new Tal Rasha's set would be awesome for a wizard but most of the items in the set roll fairly badly and aren't worth using over alternatives.

Basically once you get to 60 you can kill some Key mobs for keys, you need 3 keys, 1 from each of 3 key wardens and the recipe from the 4th, combine them together to make an infernal machine, that opens a portal to a small zone with 2 bosses in it, theres 3 portals in total to open.

One has 2 x Act1 bosses
One has 2 x Act2 bosses
one has 2 x Act3 bosses.

all have chance to drop a legendary component, so 3 seperate pieces, combine all of those to make a ring.

Its a lot of work but the rings are generally fairly decent and with 2.0 loot roll fairly nice stats still

They nerfed the drop rate of the keys and the organs, torment 1 is 25% chance and torment 6 is 50% chance. They are only worth it if you intend on levelling another class since they have a 30% exp buff, no level restriction and lvl 60 stats.

I intend on getting a str one for levelling a crusader but wouldn't use one normally unless you get a godly roll which is unlikely.

What is everyone running for items/XP farming at the moment? I found that I get about 1 legendary an hour which seems low, so I may as well see if there is a better spot to get legendaries/XP for Paragon Levels.

I have played through all of the acts on T3 but can play more comfortably on T1/T2 as I don't quite have the survivability to walk through T3 or the DPS to kill things efficiently enough on T3.

So far I have just been resetting the quest lines and going through the game again, the 100% legendary drop on Skellie King is good but I hate Act 2 so I have to play that each time :(

On char screen I have about 150K DPS, a bit over 1 million toughness, and around 3k healing. I play DH.

For xp, crypt of the ancients on t6, for items run through the whole game on normal and reset quests. There are no unique legendaries on torment until lvl 70 so no point running it unless you want xp.

Also what about green items? Worth actually picking them up? I've started just ignoring them more as they are pretty much always trash for me and i'm not really crafting much at the moment!
