What film did you watch last night?

The Matrix Trilogy was on some freeview channel recently and I watched them all. The Matrix was as good as ever, it really is a modern classic, but I realised that I went far too easy on the sequels!...at the time, I always thought Reloaded was pretty crap, but Revolutions was pretty good. Now, looking back I see just how bad they really are!

Sorry, I had a hard few hours at work and possibly missed something?

Dodge this (where Neo does his super fast bullet dodging) and shoots the agent in the head but not sure what you mean?

He meant - "Dodge this new trilogy as one of the Wachowski brothers writing it has had a sex change"

I'm not entirely sure how having your bits loped off suddenly makes you a poorer screen writer though???

mavity.

6/10 for me. Visuals were superb, and it's a bloody good job I like visuals because there was literally nothing else in this film. Clooney was excellent as usual.

If you like a decent storyline, don't bother watching.

mavity 3D

Already seen the film in 2D on BR and wanted to see what the 3D effects were like.

Have to say (and I'm not a fan of 3D) but the 3D effects worked really well for this film and made it even more enjoyable overall.

A first for me actually liking the 3D version over 2D. Looked very nice on my 60" plasma with surround sound.

2D = 8/10

3D= 9/10

Dear Lord. Please pray for this man, because he has greatly sinned.

Amen.

Neither had my wife until about a week ago! I'd bought the trilogy on Blu-Ray for £8 last year and never got round to watching them (I've got them on R1 DVD and watched them loads of times that way!)

She'd seen snippets, and someone tried too tell her what the Matrix is! which scared and confused her!! ;)

But as we know...

Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.

So I sat her down and told her to "Ask any questions if she got confused" (bless) and she, after asking quite a few questions, quite enjoyed it!! :)

Got to sit her down and watch the other two, and possibly the Animatrix as-well now (although that needs to be watched between 2 and 3)!!

I'd love to be a matrix virgin again. :p

Can still remember watching it at the cinema and just thinking WOW!

One of my favourite films, and never get bored of watching it no matter how many times I've seen it.

I'm still praying they do a fourth film (or more!) to make up for the last two weaker efforts.

Ahhh, I see thanks. Well, if they do as well as they did with the Matrix trilogy in the next 3, they can do what they like to their bodies.

The Messenger

Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster were both very good, as was the story. It conveyed the hurt that must be felt by the families who receive the bad news, and those soldiers who have to give it.

The lady that Foster gets emotional with annoyed me though!

8/10

Prisoners

I love me some Jake Gyllenhaal, who was at his best in this picture (can't wait for Enemy now!), Hugh Jackman was also good, but I think he overacted some scenes, but what can you do... Paul Dano fitted his role perfectly, as he is just pretty creepy imo. Dano's mum in the film was forgettable, as were the 2 main wives and other children. Oh and Terrence Howard was forgettable too, which was a shame...

Very strong story, and it kept me interested even though its 2 and half hours! Fantastic film for anyone who loves a good thriller.

9/10

Saving Mr. Banks

A nice story, but occasionally a little boring, but it definitely improved having seen the original Mary Poppins flick. Hanks is solid, but nothing special; Emma Thompson was the perfect actress for the role, and she played it just right.

I won't be going to watch it again any time soon, but it was still a good watch.

7/10

About Time - 8/10. Had me going!

Please hand your man card in at the door :p

Although for a rom-com, About Time was pretty solid. And by that I mean I didn't think it was **** :D

Last Vegas

An innocent comedy with a twist and a gooey centre. It doesn't take itself too seriously most of the time, but occasionally it does seem to do just that! Pretty harmless to be honest, and wouldn't mind watching it again.

The acting was poor for the most part, although De Niro was ok on occasion!

I wasn't entirely convinced about the end, wayyyyy too serious!!!
