My new MSI 290X Gaming is here!![]()
The first was 90 degrees hot at almost 100% fan speed. The new one has only 82 degrees at 65% fan! In idle silently, under load audible but still pleasant. The MSI is the best card with 290X-GPU for me![]()
The values are from BF3, Crysis 3, Metro 2033 and Heaven Benchmark. My case is a LIAN LI PC-X2000BN with 5x 140mm BeQuiet 900Upm fans.
Undervolting is also possible (-40mv to -50mv) and brings 4 - 5 °
My 290X (stock) in heaven hits ~75C. Though I notice by default mine is on +13mv in Afterburner. It struggles in Tomb Raider, is it normal for it to go above 90C in Tomb Raider? I notice in BF4 it tops out near 80. (all at 1440p).
Worried I have a bad heatsink.
Inside the case (phantom 630, it's really cool with plenty airflow.).
GPU idles around 36-40C. With a video running it's around 49-50C
The guy on the right looks like a b grade dutch porn star. The sort that would come to fix your fridge and end up servicing your mrs at the same time.
I think +50mV is too low for 1200MHz on the core clock.Hey guys, posted this on the official 290x thread but maybe will have more luck here!
I have a Gaming Edition which Ive been trying to stop artefacting at higher clocks. However, when I enable voltage control on afterburner, adding +50mV doesn't appear to stabilise the core at all to get above 1200. Then, as soon as I click apply when trying to go above +50mV on core voltage causes an instant black screen, without trying to add any more MHz.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
First you need to check what is your base voltage. For example my 290X has around 1,06-1,06V load. For 1200 core, i need the full +200mV in Trixx which gives me around 1,25-1,26V under load. I'd need a tiny bit more to make it 100% stable.Hey guys, posted this on the official 290x thread but maybe will have more luck here!
