Yeh 2 handed drops still seem terrible. Finally had some decent 1 hangers drop though. 2x legendaries, 1 near perfect pig stickler (squeal :D) and then a generic legendary mace that has nice stats :)
Monk is up to 70k DPS and about 600k toughness now, not bad considering I rolled the character on Sunday!

Started a HC Demon Hunter on "Expert" earlier today. Except for a brief "Oh ****....!!!" moment when frozen, it's been pretty easy.

50% extra XP helps though, keeps you far ahead of the curve.

I did the same with a HC Monk.

The 50% extra experience buff is actually keeping you behind the curve.

Enemies scale based on your current level, your gear obviously doesn't. I was in Tristram at I think level 5 before I had my first weapon drop which was like 3/4x the dps of my current weapon. Once I got that things really started to speed up again. Its slowed down a bit more now so I can at least keep up with my weapon dps.

Only got to rescue Cain so far though. With the boost I figured I should really focus a bit more on a level 60 character and get the paragon levels.

any help me out?

I was leaching from a clan member last night, loading into single player act 2 quest 2 which is where I was up to, I don't have any waypoints. The town portal stays grey so I cant fast travel anywere. Tried loading from beginning of act 1 and still the same. Another clan member started Act 2 last quest which when I load that it gives me all the waypoints back. But when I go back into my own game the portals go back to grey.

Anyone know what I can do? I need to get to the Black Canyon to continue the story but hopefully all my waypoints work afterwards...

D3 runs completely smooth maxed out for me on a much older system (i7 920 and GTX 295), aside from low frames for a couple seconds after first loading Tristram it never gets low.

Have you been in the situations I stated above though? Act 3 is really the only place the game struggles for me, going across the battlements raising catapults and lighting signal fires in a spell heavy group can make it chug a little and the bridge before the seige beast chugs like crazy, everyone I've played with get's it at the same points as I do so it's definitely engine or company-side, somebody I play with stated it could be the servers not keeping up. Although it does kinda make sense, I'm not sure how it could cause stuttering.

EU and US maintenance are on different days. I'm not sure how going down at 3AM GMT (4AM for most people in Europe) is considered peak time, but ok.

It is ridiculous how often they extend the maintenance though, after doing this for so long you'd have thought that they'd be able to release small patches much more smoothly than they currently do, especially when you consider that they release them in the US first, so should already know what problems they will run into and how to fix them.

It's more peak time than say, 2am-9am. Some people work night shifts, have few days off or no job at all, it seems the 9-5 bracket get the cushty jobs and the consideration with stuff like this over here :p why not do the maintenance through the night like they do in America.

I wonder what would happen if they didn't perform maintenance though, is it really neccesary or is it like a user running CCleaner often out of habit, hmm. :p

I noticed the AH was down for quite a while last night after the servers came back up, quite a few million worth of plans I found boosting a friend disappeared when placed on there, thankfully they came back. :o

Pretty sure multiplayer and single player run throughs are kept seperate, you'd have to go through single player to get the waypoints from where it left you off. I'm guessing you reset quests?

Nah you can give people waypoints and missions by them being in your group, exist you still need these? I'm jumping on in 20 minutes or so.

It will unlock for single player as long as you complete the mission nearest to the portal on multiplayer.

I reset my quests like a noob the other day and jumped on with a friend on actIII and it unlocked for me on single player but only after I had completed the mission.

Yes, I've played every class through all acts, several times. Never had a performance issue (other than network based rubberbanding).

They do do it through the night like in the US. They start maintenance at 3AM, I really don't understand what it is you're complaining about when you say they should do it 2-9AM, when they already do it from 3AM onwards.

Whats the quickest way to level an alt at the moment? Started one last night and thought I might beable to sneak into a torment level for xp boosts but there were no players available.

When i checked the same quests/levels with my 60 there were hundreds of games available. Does it pair based on level aswell? I deffo had a random lvl 21 guy join a torment 2 game a couple nights back

Another game that runs better based on how old your hardware is then, great.

Crikey, maintenance took 14 hours?

I'm sure it was 11am CET till 6pm CET, but Blizzard's announcement could be lying. :o

Start a torment 6 game with your new toon, and then get a lv60 friend to boost you to 55 or when they start struggling, then do Crypt of the Ancient runs on t1-3, will take about 1.5 hours overall.

I got a lot of performance issues on that same mission area at the stronghold,

I haven't had an issue since dropping the settings down a bit but then again it could be server related, I was playing peak EU times and it only seems to slow down in certain areas.

It didn't feel like frame loss as such but more the game struggling to keep up with what was going on :(

All the crazy ways have been nerfed that I know of, so the fastest and easiest way is getting a friend who can easily clear any of the torment levels and just clear areas with you in close proximity.

Cool thanks chaps. Think all my pals can only clear T2 so that'll have to do. We are all suffering from not playing in 12months+ but i suppose the way the loot system is now it won't take long to gear up

It was supposed to finish at 11AM CET, so I guess the announcement is that it was extended from 11 onwards :).

Damn, that's a long ass maintenance time.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping, Blizzard have never had issues with engine optimisation before, so hopefuly it will be server side, which is a shame as their servers in d3 are awful, rarely get above 40ms and spike to 1k+ sometimes, unacceptable when WoW sits at 10ms and never budges.

Games scale to the host now, so they can easily carry you through torment 6 until probably 45 or so if their gear is legacy stuff. t6 is about 20% a level per kill, and mobs have like 200hp so as long as their lv60s do 200dps or more they'll be fine. ;)

Yup, and since they did all the same stuff on the US servers the day before they don't really have any reason for it to have taken so long :/.

D3's servers are pretty bad, and the reason I stopped playing HC after dying to rubberbanding back into poison/arcane axe smashing dudes on the bridge that you were talking about.

Rubberbanding seems far better now than back then, but latency in general is still poor :(.

Cheers for the help guys, managed to get them working again by running from town to the black canyon waypoint at which point it activated and re activated the town waypoint also.

Thanks also to the clan member whos DH name started with a B for letting me leach in the Ancients cave last night :)
