Shame there's no space left in the ocuk clan, wish they would up the limits :(

I sat in the community chat all night, no one ever seems to join :(
 
Need your help guys if possible, this couldn't have started happening at a worse time. Over the weekend, D3 crashed when I was in the middle of a game. Then on Monday and Tuesday it happened once each day, but yesterday it was happening every 10 minutes. I decided to completely reinstall D3 but that hasn't helped as it's already happened twice in 30 minutes of playing time. It does 1 of 2 things during playing, this can be in the middle of a fight or doing something as simple as crafting.

1: Game freezes, my monitor goes black for about 3 seconds then it re-establishes the display again and everything is fine.

2: Games freezes, monitor goes black and I crash to the desktop. It tells me the graphics driver has stopped working.

Specs: i7 920 (2.7ghz), 6gb RAM, GTX 260.

I upgraded my graphics drivers over the weekend, don't know if that has anything to do with it. Another update came out yesterday which I grabbed but it didn't improve anything. I play on high settings with v-sync enabled as I get very bad screen tearing when I disable it. If any of you have any idea at all please let me know.

Sounds like dodgy drivers,

Do an un-install + clean of your drivers and try installing whatever the previous driver version is to the latest.

Sounds to me like a GFX driver issue.

Does this only happen with D3? Can you play other graphically intensive games without issue?

Do as Baplad says and reinstall the driver to rule out that first.

Also its criminal to leave that 920 sat at stock clocks ;)

Games scale to the host now, so they can easily carry you through torment 6 until probably 45 or so if their gear is legacy stuff. t6 is about 20% a level per kill, and mobs have like 200hp so as long as their lv60s do 200dps or more they'll be fine. ;)

Really interested by this, as I've been using the 50% boost at the moment to quickly level a char on Expert difficulty (now at 52 partway through Act 2). That said, it's still taken a good few hours, and nowhere near as fast as what you're saying.

Much appetite for a few OcUK runs to help various people level up alts? We could take it in turns to use our L60 to help the other 3 guys in the group maybe?

Yeah would be interested in this,

I was running a friend through last night to get him to the same level as my barb so I could play through the story with him.

On expert he went from lvl1-33 pretty fast.


But it's hard finding someone to return the favour :(

I would have suggested rocking onto some torment games with randoms/friends and keeping your distance but since you're a barb that might be a bit hard :p

Farm and get your paragon level's up will help when creating other characters plus you will also get drops that will upgrade what you already have.

We could do, there's been a few people asking since it reached the cap.

The main problem is the member limit on clans is 150 and I think its unlimited on communities but you have to join community chat it doesn't auto opt you into it :rolleyes:

Which usually means even if there's like 10-20 people online in the community only 1 or 2 will be in the chat.

Hopefully they increase the member limit on clans or make community chat auto-join with the option of opting out of it auto-joining

Thats totally fine mate. Just create a game on t6 and let your lvl60 mates join you. Shouldnt take longer than 1-2 hours
It will probably slow down once you hit lvl ~50 and your mates cant kill stuff quick enough. Then drop it down to T5

I recently fixed a friends PC that was crashing like you are describing, first thing to do is find out if its just D3 or other games, what i did was run a program called Furmark and run it on the res of your screen but turn all AA on to the max, this will stress the gfx card out to the max, if that crashes aswell you know its not just D3 thats the problem.

As said above, try a total clean install of gfx drivers by removing old drivers and doing a clean install of new drivers, use a program called msi afterburn to check gfx temps etc see if anything looks out of the ordinary, Also check you have the latest drivers for your motherboard.

For my friend i tried EVERYTHING, and was convinced the PSU or GFX card were broken, until he put his GFX card in my pc and it worked fine, so i was thinking it was the PSU, it actually turned out to be the BIOS was out of date, So i would check that too!!
 
if the community is unlimited members, why dont we just scrap the clan and have everyone join the community?

Is there any benefit of the clan over the community?

For Clans and Communities:

  • Message of the Day: Notifies you of changes to the MOTD
  • Clan/Community Information: Notifies you of changes to the Clan Information entry
  • New Leader: Be among the first to know when Clan or Community Leadership changes hands

For Clans Only:

  • Items: Notifies you when a clan member finds a Legendary item and allows you to check out its stats
  • Achievements: Notifies you every time a clan member completes an Achievement
  • Member Joined: Notifies you when a new member joins the clan
  • Member Left: Notifies you when a member leaves the clan
  • Member Promoted: Allows you to track promotions within your clan
