So... F type R / GT-R MY14

F Type - but I guess I'm biased. I took an R home last night.

Its a road car so the drama, sense of occasion and gunfire/back fires on demand is everyday- The R is supercar quick though and difficult to actually use full pace on roads other than motorways so the fact its a bit loose and noisy at low speed is a good thing.

In terms purely of sex appeal, never having driven either car, the Jag all day long. The GT-R is just a computerised rice-mobile with no charisma or glamour.
 
F Type.

Simply becasue it's a more traditional British style sports car with a great soundtrack and I would hope to be more fun and involving to drive.

The GT-R is an amazing machine especially tuned, but seems cumbersome and less of an occasion for my tastes.
 
Difficult...The Jag has the looks, the noise, while the GT-R is an affordable Supercar that is incredibly quick, whilst being very practical.

Since the GT-R is a dreamcar for me, i'd have to pick it.
 
The Jag for me - more of a sense of occasion than the Nissan, and probably more fun on the road. I really don't care that the Nissan is faster around the Nurburgring.

Ah ok - didn't realise!

Yes, did think that seemed a bit soon - I take it you've likely driven the V8S as well? Any news on the potential for an R-S?

The Jag for sure. But not the R.
A sports car should be a convertible so the V8S would be the one for me.
 
Had both a '14 F-Type V8S and a '13 GT-R. Totally different cars but honestly for fun factor I preferred the Jag. The GT-R was more capable and a far better daily driver but I found the F-Type entertaining every time I drove it. I wouldn't say it's a perfect car though, I had quite a few issues with the build quality and general feel of the interior given the price. That said, I probably would've kept it if I hadn't wanted to get into a Ferrari again.

Edit - I can post a better/more detailed look at both when I'm back home if anyone's interested.

Yes V8S aswell last year. I think I did some videos and comments in a thread somewhere?
R moves on a bit from the V8S. Less instrusive DSC in dynamic mode is evident aswell a really responsive front end, which offers composure most of the time.... it can get a bit fiddegty at speed on a B road as expected, but then I think the V8S in dynamic mode was customised to leave the suspension in normal probably for that reason. The R was in standard dynamic so probably a little overdamped for a UK B. I think the R would better job thanks to the tuning and lighter brakes on this one - just need to change the settings.

I think I prefer the Coupe as I'm a bit awkward with the convertible roof off driving through town feeling - the fact its cheaper is another bonus! The pano roof does a good job of getting light into the cabin but obviously its not quite as loud - Im sure in normal mode the symposer has been tuned to allow more supercharger whine aswell - its still subtle though and regardless of the showboating features the car maintains the duality of a Jaguar. Cruiser and bruiser in one.

Its pretty subjective as ever, one thing most will agree on is the comedy performance. Its simply staggering regardless what you're doing when you request power its there. The active exhaust never gets old either although I am a little concious waking the neighbours up at start up :D
I remain convinced there is no need for a DCT gearbox either when the gearbox is this good, yet so well mannered when in town.
 
After seeing my 1st Type-F on the roads I don't like the front which is odd as in pictures it looks fantastic (same with the XF :confused: ) and I'm a GTR fan-boi so it'd have to be the GTR for me :D
 
F Type R looks superb, sounds superb but I think it would probably be low down on my list if I had £85k to spend on a car.

Isn't the new California supposed to be around £85k as well?
