Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

My first time trying it and I'm getting "Network Error - Connection Closed".

A quick google suggests this is due to full servers. Can anyone confirm?

Edit: Now getting "No datacenter permissions".

Edit again: NVM, sorted.

I need to try this tomorrow I'm tired tonight and feel like the game is boring and awful pretty much because I'm tired and I'm just following an arrow and reading nothing...........I kinda like cinematic games and this has had very low production values so far.....I'll try my best to get my head around what the hell is going on in front of me tomorrow when I have slept.....who'd have a job eh.

So far I think I like the engineer class the most. I usually play a warrior but I don't really like the melee combat in this game. Haven't tried a stalker yet though so I wont rule it out completely just yet.

Stalkers are seriously fun, not a class I normally roll, but they pretty great in this game, won't be my main, but will be first alt.

I've quite liked the warrior so far myself. I thnk I prefer the dominion overall as the starter experience for the exiles is just annoying but is better once you hit nexus.

EDIT: Keys are gone now sorry

Got mine preordered and been having a blast tonight. Been playing the stalker s far and its pretty easy going. Lots of stalkers about too. I think they are gonna get tuned down a bit. Game feels quite familiar if you have played GW2. Performance and bugs need some work but nothing unexpected for beta.

Hoping they get the new UI out in the next beta too as it needs some work at the moment. Level 7 now and it's time to get some sleep :)

The ship reminds me of the Gnome starter area and the opening planet reminds me of the Goblin starter area (WoW) where you get shipwrecked.

I liked WoW when i played it a few years ago, but going back to a similar art style in 2014 is something that i can't seem to ignore over the good game mechanics.

It's not the games fault, just mine.

Eng DPs tp level then tanking later, but for pure murderous fun, a stalker with 4 or 5 others they just fun.

(Yes you can level DPs and tank, but I can't be assed carrying gear for both)

Slowly moving towards a Engineer tank. Started off slow but really enjoying it now.

Seems there removing the Target render scale option. Boo.

"Render Target Scale shouldn't go any higher than 1. That's (one of) the settings that our near-genius graphics engineer put in to take advantage of graphic/cpu advances years down the line. It was a mistake to let users crank it to the right because they have a beefy machine... even today's beefy machines can't handle that setting all the way to the right. (disclaimer; I might be lumping a few things into the same issue here - but I do know that Render Target Scale shouldn't be above 1 on almost any machine)

So much so that in a future build we are going to be removing that option from the client and putting it as a configurable setting somewhere that normal users won't mess with unless they are purposefully trying to eek out that extra badassery their machine can handle. It (and the other settings in the same vein) becomes a power user feature at that point."

There statement is complete rubbish awell though since lots of machines can handle it on the 2 setting which is basically 4k downsampled.
I guess we can change it in the config file but I don't see any reason to remove it.

Stupid game! can't decide now on a main having tried Spellslinger and Warrior.

I've seen enough now to know it's my next MMo purchase :)

I think I prefer GW2 over this. With it charging a monthly fee, it would have to be better than GW2 to get me to play.

Although nothing compares to SWG Pre-CU, and I don't think anything ever will again. Unfortunately MMOs have changed since SWG was around.
