Had 4 races today, all in the Ruf track around Interlargos.

Jumped into the first 1 after 10 minutes of practice.
Started 21st, worked my way thru the field and spun a couple of times and ended up 14th

Spent the next hour tweeking the setup to get it stable enough for me to push the car.

Started from 21st again, cut thru the field to 4th. With 5 laps to go I realised I did not put enough fuel in the car to finish at the pace I was going. Moved to Fuel saving mix + early shifting/lifting. I ran out of fuel down the final straight and got piped to the line so finished 5th.

Thought to myself I'd have a good chance of winning a race is I qualified - So I did.

Third race started 2nd. Dropped to 3rd after T1 and followed the front 2 for 15 laps. Took back p2 then P1 with 2 laps to go.

Forth race I was in a better split and started 6th. Got out muscled into T1 again and was down to 8th. P3 to P9 ran nose to tail the whole race I slowly worked my way thru to finish 3rd.

Just did my first race in the GT3 series, finished 3rd of 30 drivers.

The level of driving was something I forget even existed, its either people dive bombing you and taking you out or people not being able to control the car when going side by side into a corner and then spinning into other cars. I find the car a bit too easy to drive as well, its kind of boring. Maybe the Skippy and Lotus 79 spoiled me or maybe I just prefer open wheel cars.

The GT3 series is going to be even more popular when the BMW is released, I'm afraid its going to kill other racing. Being on Aussie time the only series that has regular official racing is the GT3 and skip, I had to give up my beloved mustang racing :(

The racing in the GT3 has a lot to be desired but I still think the star mazda races a few years back filled with Italians and eastern euro's is hands down the worst racing I have seen haha

Yeah its good to run a car like the Skippy or GT3 I think since most other series only have races that go official at prime time. The Lotus 79 only had like 3 races on the weekends that went official most of the time so most of the week was practicing the track and running other series, I don't think thats a bad thing as most people have no excuses for not being able to handle the car around the track.

Edit: Did another race in the GT3 series, confirmed that I'm not racing there again :p

What series you going to race instead mate?

I'll probably race the Skippy along with the Lotus 79 but I'm tempted by the Radical so I might have to try that for a week and see how it goes.

I only managed to get the one race in the GT3 on Saturday, didn't go too badly, no qualifying to started almost at the back of the grid (23rd of 25), dropped right to the back on the start and tried to wait out the mess, annoyingly got tagged by a damaged car in the second to last proper corner (downhill left hander) and spun but no damage.

Then worked my way up to 17th/16th and had a ~8-10 lap battle with another guy, he got me down the backstraight on the second to last lap, I had the pace to get him back but made a mistake so came in 17th 0.2s back, I was ranked 17th so fairly happy, just a few too many off-tracks.

Forgot to watch the replay so not sure who's fault that was, it wasn't terrible driving though, and generally the driving seemed fine, they were just all too fast :p But this was the top split I believe.

Guess i'll have to try even harder then.

Just need to do two races before season end and maintain my SR and i'll be on the C licence.

What BMW are they releasing?

Hopefully when the Z4 comes out they removed the made up car from the GT3 series.

Balance the z4 and mp4 better than they have done the RUF and MP4. People can argue its balanced but teh simple fact is every single track im near 1-1.5 seconds faster on small-medium tracks 2+ seconds a lap faster in the RUF than the MP4 on large tracks without even trying. (Bare in mind I like teh Mp4 very much and raced it doing quite well.) But the RUF just beats it without even trying.

The RUF should go into its own class series imo. There's no such thing in real life as a RUF track car that races GT3. Its purely made up due to licence reasons. For that fact I'm out.
