I was looking up rolling resistance vs tire inflation and came across this article.

According to this chap the optimum psi for my bike and me and my stuff (77kg +10kg +2kg(water, tools etc) 89kg is 103psi, I normally run about 110-115 so I might try the lower psi and see how it feels.

What do you guys run? I know if the back is too high on mine then I find it skids around on fast descents quite a bit, but then I do corner like a granny.
Does depend on the tyres but I'm ~70kg and I do 90/100 front/rear in 25c tyres, 100/110 in 23's and 110/120 in my 20's. My roads are REALLY poor though, so I like to keep them on the high side.

same here when it comes to road.. just constant banging.. any lower and I can bottom out my tyre and hit my rim over a bigger pothole.

I think I'll give 100/110 front/rear a go, I'm on 23c and a bit more comfort and maybe a bit more grip would be appreciated!

by grip.. do you actually LOSE grip and you can actually feel it? the only time I seem to lose grip on my slicks is in VERY wet and when breaking hard(rear only)

I recently over-inflated the rear tyre, to around 120ish (I think, it was with a Co2 canister and found it very skittish on the rear during braking on a decent, that's how it felt anyway.

blimey

I've been out 4 days in a row this week so far, I don't think I've ever done so much, couldn't resist going out in such lovely weather !

and 2 weeks ago got a PB on segment, going up

yesterday I beat it again ! This time I was on my summer bike by about 1m30 seconds !

Looking for some summer tyres to replace my Conti cyclo-cross Race's (35c) on the Cotic X. The only requirement is they have to be reasonably tough for the small amount of dirt track I ride on. Not bothered about CX tyres.

I don't usually deal with tyres under 2" so I'm clueless when it comes to dirty roadie tech. Help!

Grrr, noticed that my rear tyre has a lengthways split about 2mm long dead centre, oddly I can see red underneath?

They're these, only had them on for about a month!

You guys think I should change it? I'm doing a sportive on Sunday about an hour from home so I guess I'd better take a spare anyway...

Any recommendations? I usually cycling on pretty good country roads, but puncture protection would be nice, something grippy and preferably blue! :p

panaracer pasela's in 28 or 32, or Rivendell Jack Browns/roll-y pol-y if your feeling spendy

theyre £11 a tyre, and notoriously ****
get what you pay for ;)

So I got an email and text from the Royal Mail saying my wiggle order (pedals, chain, bar tape, nothing too exciting) had been delivered. Get home, no parcel, no card saying where they've left it. Useless Royal Mail.

Any tyre suggestions then? ;)
Michelin Dynamic are pretty good at that price. I've been commuting on them for about a year now and I've been impressed. Pretty good puncture resistance, they can definitely take a proper beating, acceptable grip and they seem to just keep going on and on.

What's the dirt track like?

I use 28mm Conti GP 4Seasons if it's not too bad as these are road tyres. If you need a little more grip I also use Kenda Small Block 8s which are a decent all rounder, Challenge Griffo XS which roll brilliantly but are pricy and Michelin Mud 2s for when it gets messy.

It's a medieval road, mostly smooth but has some sections of pointy rocks. Pretty much a good condition farm track. Have heard good things about the SB8's in a MTB context.
