God damn it. My Corsair AX850 PSU just died:mad: No new GPU's for me until I get new PSU:(:(

Using a 600watt crappy OCZ PSU for now until I get new one?

Want to power 2 780Ti SLI.

How's this PSU?
Corsair RM Series RM 1000 80+ Gold Rated?

I like the SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W, but I have to use there cables. I want to use coloured cables and it seems only Corsair do them. Is that Corsair RM 1000 a good PSU? or maybe the AX860i? Which is better for 780Ti SLI?

Thanks

I can't see you going far wrong with that Corsair psu (though I have to admit I'm no authority on power supply units). :)

The Corsair RM series is not the best. Similar for AXI sadly. AX series was great. They changed OEM not for the better.

You wanna OC 2 780Ti you need SF 1200 Plat or similar. Would have to use extension braided cables like you say. EVGA, Seasonic and Bequiet are also top supplies.

I bought a Be Quiet psu quite recently, and it's been good. Shame about the Corsair.

Enermax are excellent, too.

Now things like this worry me, I've not long invested in a Corsair AX1200i and full kit of colour cables, what is wrong with the AXI supplies? I've just spent a small fortune on mine, is it being said that a 860i wouldn't be sufficient to power two 780ti's?

Wouldn't the SuperFlower 1000 watt be enough?

I also like the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W 80+ Platinum I think 1200 would be a little too much I'm only going to do small OC's. so if I want colorued cables I'll have to use BitFenix Braided Cables I guess.

EVGA or Superflower?

The 1200i is ok with up to 3 780ti's (providing you are not trying to drain the national grid like 8 Pack) but when running 3 290Xs and a 3970X overclocked it could not cope in my system.

As 8 Pack says above, there are better PSUs around for heavy work.

Looks like the AXi use Flextronics who are pretty average (nothing wrong with them - but not as good as seasonic, etc.). 860watt should be ok for 780ti SLI unless your using a custom BIOS to push massively past the normal power targets.

I couldn't run a Titan @ 1306 with 1.3v - went thru 2 AX1200i

Both would just shut down :(

But they would run 3 x Titans on a stock bios without issue. :)

A lot of people have had issues with AXI PSUs myself included. As soon as I got back my 860i from corsair rma I sold it on, looking at getting the standard AX 860 now that has way less issues, I put this down to fact the 860 is built by seasonic, whist the AXI is flextronics.

An 860 is more than Enough for 780ti SLI, hell OC3D ran a ti with a RM450.

It may be a volts thing, I was using around 1.375v with my 290Xs when my 1200i shutdown.:D

Here is how I solved my problem with the 290Xs.:D
