Live Update doesn't show any new BIOS for me, so i might have the latest. Ill try the beta driver tomorrow.

Was it you who had the issue and the side fans not spinning up on the 14.x drivers?

I am a big fan of MSI but you would have thought with the quick response that was sent to me, if they had known, they would have made it public knowledge but I couldn't find a single bit of official info regarding this. So many users have it as well.

I am a big fan of MSI but poor show here (if it is them at fault of course).

My last four AMD cards:
2 MSI 7950 Twin Frozr II (the new revision) both DOA
2 MSI 290 Gaming edition both DOA - these were bought for a second PC

Maybe I've just been unlucky?! :D

Thank you Rudolph (the red nose'd reindeer). Nice to see you my passionate AMD fellow :). I hope life has been as been as stress free as possible for you?. I've been working like a non sleeping dog so my PC has been a paperweight for a long time. I even had a RMA opened from 1st April 2013 with my broken Qpad MK85 that luckily OCUK still honoured (thank you Bailey).

I'm still rocking the 680s :( (shoot me now, jokes :p). I've recently bought my mother dearest a new 27" monitor, SSD, case and wireless mobo/keyboard. Also bought my friend the 280X MSI OC card that was on offer last week as his 6970 died so I gave him one of my 680s to use which he's had for 3-4 months. But I'm moving to Oxford in about 2 weeks so will hold off on the upgrade path but boy am I itching to spend some hard earned cash.

Are you on 290s yet or are you still using the xfire 7970s?. Also if you did upgrade, was it for need or want?.

Yeah i noticed it was your first post in almost a year, how time flies.

Since you've been gone i moved from xfire'd 7950's to a 7990, then sold that to the miners for a big profit and got a free upgrade to 290 crossfire. Didn't really need the upgrade performance wise but im glad i did now. Latest tech and all that.

We'll have to get you back on the red side soon. :p
 
So the experiences with the latest 14.4 beta.
Newest BIOS (i think because liveupdate doesn't show any downloadable bios), newest fan control.

There is no fan speed setting option in the fan control, nor in afterburner. There is no fan speed percentage shown in fan control nor in afterburner.
The fans definiately working, because my card doesn't run any hotter than it did with the 13.12 driver.

Only drawback is you cant set the fans manually.

I had to send a Lightning back and have it RMA'd, could have been the 14.3 drivers that caused the issue.

Thanks Greg for posting this, My live update says there isnt a new bios for the card?

And the trolls can do one, idiots.
