If you're anywhere near as quick on your bike as you are making excuses, you should be fine.

calm down, are you questioning my raw power? I'd like to race you just for the attitude! ;) I'm fast enough for my liking and I'd race on a road I know but park I've never been at is just plain dumb especially since I've got no idea what to expect or where to go and where to slow down.

I'm sure you can see my point of view here!

How much of the TdF route do you think they big boys know before they race it?

closed roads, full of other cyclists.. hmm.. ?

I'll do my best to get to RP during this weekend and get my self familiar with the park!

what's a respectable time for a full 6.7mi lap?

My friend did it in 16:37, good luck!

I wouldn't expect you to do it without trying a few laps first of course, but being able to look at the road ahead of you and decide how to handle the bike appropriately is part of the skill of riding a bike whether you know the roads or not!

that's a bit mental ;) I'm fast but not that fast haha, I'd aim for 20-21min MAX

I'll have a few practice laps, get a PR and we'll see what's what ;) what's your best then?

That's one word for it, it's hard work riding with him. I've not been with him at that pace, my current best is 20:06. I'd like to take it down by a minute or so in the near future, which given better weather I hope would be achievable. Would have been good to join you for a few laps this weekend, but unfortunately off the bike due to surgery. Come on a spin in a month or so?

I did a 19:07 21.0mi/h ACW RP lap last summer on a perfect summers evening when I was in flying fitness after just coming back from the Alps and then London triathlon. Was a perfect summers evening but annoyingly I think I could have done it even faster, I had to come to a complete standstill for a police landrover that decided to stop in the middle of the road near the roundabout near the cafe.

I'm doing longer distances this year inc JOGLE so concentrating on distance at the moment rather than speed but still would like to do 3 x RP Laps in under an hour by the end of the summer!

Also would love a time trial bike and some deep rims to see what I could do at RP!

you do know what this means? I will literally camp in RP now :|

neh joking, but I'll try to find time to get up there with you guys! I'm rubbish at climbing and there seems to be a steep bit right after the turn! so I wonder if I can keep a good 15mph over hills i'll be alright if i get extra speed on flats/downhills.
