Look currently I'm having to update the specs of my PC and just 5 mins into my search the cash is evaporating from my pocket!!

So, sometimes I think damn, the PS4 is on sale for £314 lately, the **** am I doing paying so much for PC tech? Now hear me out, I am useless with a controller & generally have always been happier on a PC but it just seems the console community is getting bigger & more attention due to the cash it generates.

If I was to invest in a PS4 now it will last me till they release another gen of consoles which is normally quite a long time. So its immense bang for buck as opposed to keeping up with PC tech!?

Remind me why I'm such a PC diehard again please?

you know consoles are ****, and PC is the only God of gaming, shut up and buy the parts, and get BF4 loaded on highest settings, then tell me your woes.....

If you really care about graphics and that nonsense, go PC. If you don't mind the price of games, go PS4.

The only reason I switched from PS to PC is because of the game prices. I used to buy like 2 games a year because of the price. That would mean my PS would be used for only 6 months from a year. PC games are so cheap, meaning I always have something to play.

Also, the games I play (Counter Strike, FM etc.) can be easily modded, which lengthens the life of the game. Also easier to play with friends. Many people have a half decent PC which can play games like Fm, Fifa and CS on low settings. Not everyone has a PS.

If you build a new pc now i could last until the next gen of consoles...

You don't need to keep up. Like the PS3 and XBOX 360 didn't, they just have extremely low detail settings and resolutions compared to PC versions.

So in 5 years time when the PS4 and XBONE are nearing the end of their life the pc you just built will still be as powerful and will still be able to pump out the same graphics as them.

If you plan on buying any console games then I hope you realise that your bang for buck has gone right there, PC games are much cheaper!

If there was keyboard/mouse support on consoles, I would drop my PC instantly. But I hate control pads so PC stays.

The Xbox 360 is just nearing the end of it's life now, and it was released nearly 9 years ago. How well would a top end PC from 9 years ago play modern games?

The same or better than an xbox 360, at low res and low quality. Many 360/PS3 games aren't even 720p, nevermind 1080p.

As someone who's had a PS4 for several weeks now, it's a great machine but I'm not hugely convinced now is the time to buy one yet. Give it a few months until there are more games out. Unless of course, you like the look of everything that's available for it right now in which case, why not.

Exactly this. The mind boggles at how some people expect the same hardware to churn out more than three times the resolution for the same frame rate. It isn't rocket science.

Low res/quality/FPS PC games are disgusting though whereas on console they are bearable for various reasons.

They are extremely optimized for the aging hardware, and you are (generally) further away from the screen as mentioned. Low res stuff usually looks better through a television than a monitor too.
