The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

The UK's premier HS team (ldn-con) are currently dominating the EU ladder. Looking forward to see what these lads can achieve internationally this year. They take it in turns to queue so as to avoid facing each other and maintain their positions.

Only blizzard knows as there aren't a set amount in each tier. After Rank 15 you need 5 stars to promote. After Rank 5 win streaks no longer apply. Promoting from Rank 1 is Legend Rank where you will get a number in your gem stating your overall server rank. So in the picture above you have 4 of the top 5 players on the whole EU server.

What do you expect if you want to go completely F2P? Be able to craft all the legendaries you want after a couple of nights of play? Blizzard have to tempt people in to buying packs. They aren't running Hearthstone as a charity and need to pay for dev time, server costs, and make a profit on the operation as a whole.

Play basic decks, learn the cards, treat defeats as a learning process, it'll make you a MUCH better player in the long-run than someone who was just granted all the legendary cards.

lets face it the hearthstone model for a CARD TRADING GAME is terrible.

I always said it and I always will SCROLLS is a far better TGC than hearthstone, it has far more depth.
the in game store is far better, the in game rewards are far better and it feels like a hell of a lot less a grind.
you can trade cards with other people and amazingly someone even made an auction style mod for it.

ofcourse hearthstone was going to be popular even if it was a **** game just because it's by blizzard.

I'm sure the finance guys took this into account when designing the model for the game.

Although scrolls isn't F2p you might as well call it that since it's only around 15$ and you start with more than enough gold to buy a good deck.

To me hearthstone always feels like pay2win than F2P and that's essentially how the game is set up.

Finally got my Malygos, Ogre Magi to Ancient Mage down then followed up with Fireball, Arcane Missiles for a nice 25 damage to the face. The Arcane Missiles went on for ages, the other guy didn't know what hit him... just kept "threatening" me. Haha.

Folks, Im getting sick of this game.

(Ignore what I just said, that's just the part of me that keeps losing at Arena - Im addicted to this game).

But I just keep losing in Arena. Are there any net resources discussing strategies and ways to improve your general game and what to look for in terms of cards when playing Arena?

Well you are not going to get 12-0 every run.

Sorry you mean Im not going to lose 12-0 every run?

i bought the 40 pack today, 2 legendaries and lots of duplicates was disappointed with what i got. I'm finished putting money in now as i have spent about £70 and still not getting good cards.

I am quite close to being able to craft this deck, watching it on stream and the plays the guy does is so sick lol. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/44113-burstdown-miracle-rogue

See that would be normal for me if it were a CCG like Magic... but for an online digital CCG... I still have to get my head round it...

Lots, one last night at dreamhack. And yeah I very rarely do arena. I'll open packs the second I get 100 gold, if I manage to get over 150 from a quest then maybe I'll do an arena. Just don't enjoy them really.

Down to rank 6 now with the Warrior deck I posted on the previous page!

Pretty stoked with that, I took out the only legendary in the deck and it actually performs better without it.

It now has zero epic or legendary cards.

Hopefully can keep going, but it may only be a matter of time before I hit a wall.

You got any tips for that deck CrimeFighter?

Been running it up to around rank 15/14 but just feel that when it works it works great, but when it doesn't I just get crushed.

I struggle with AOE and removal it seems. Obviously you are having success with it so hoping you can point me in the right direction :)
