So 2nd thunderfury dropped for me, this time on hardcore:

BNdyYvn.png

Pretty low damage roll but at least it rolled with a socket.

I'm trying to work out what to re-roll for max dps. If my calculations are correct, if I re-roll the lightning damage, the max dps I can get is 2249, and if I re-roll the LoH to damage %, then with 10% I'd get 2275.

Does anyone know how to work out the dps if I re-roll LoH for attack speed? Thanks.

DPS = (((low damage + high damage) / 2) * x% Damage or 1) * (base attack speed * bonus attack speed or 1)

So in your case:

What is it now: (((1254 + 1702) / 2) * 1) * (1.4 * 1)) = 2,069.2
7% more attack speed: 2,214.04
10% more damage: 2,276.12 (current broken for non-black damage)
Max damage roll: 2,274.3

Attack speed only really counts for the weapon itself though. For skills that are based off main hand only and do not rotate between main hand and offhand it adds nothing and you'd be better off getting +x% damage for when they fix it. Max damage rolls is literally the highest possible which is near impossible to get.

ok thanks, I re-rolled the LoH for AS for now (1st try) and will change that to dmg% when they fix it, if I'm still using it then :P

It's above 2.2k dps now so I'm happy!

Just a heads up that at the moment I will quite often be playing / messing around with a real life friend, but it is not a problem for people to join. He is trying to get his Demon Hunter geared up and is slowly getting there.

I was also playing around with the basics of a leapquake build last night. I have the Lut Socks and three pieces of the earth quake set. I managed to piece together some basic pieces and even rerolled some items, but I burned through 40 forgotten souls and still have not rerolled all the pieces. :/

While doing this I also managed to ruin my Sun keeper. :( I was going to reroll something into a socket, I think it was life per hit, but I had a secondary property selected, but had clicked on the question mark of a primary. So when I clicked on reroll it rolled the secondary.

The playstyle is also very different from a lightning build. I am not sure if I like it or not yet. I guess I will slowly build up the rest of the gear for it and give it another go when I have some better fire gear.

so ive found a way to guarantee what legendary kadala will roll for you....

1 - ask in clan chat if anyone has a mirrorball(insert the item name you want instead here) they can show...

2 - use 50 shards on Kadala and a mirrorball(the item you wanted) will appear in your items from her

please note your milage may vary and this also wont work for everyone and I also only tested it once and it wasn't even a real test....

Awaits rush of " has anyone got a tf....."

*including me* :D

Well RNG isnt really RNG. It's based off loot tables. Each game you create comes with a certain loot table. You need a friend or two accounts to exploit that for gains.

Essentially you create a game, the lowest level you can for the item you want, and play until you find a low level version of the loot you're after. If you dont, it wont be on the loot table. Keep going until you do, then join that same game with your main and gamble from kadala, as it will be on the loot table.

Lot of work if you ask me but not based on luck.

I don't understand that because I've had items from Kadala which have never dropped, even at lower level? At least I'm pretty sure that's the case :O

Ready for Proofy!

TLDR notes:

-The loot table is determined by toon, per game. If it were possible to play in one game indefinitely, there would be certain legendaries you would have mountains of, and certain ones that will never drop. You could open 50 A1 Cache and not get a single RRoG because RRoG is not in your table for that game.

The image wasn't showing Delphi, it shows for me now that I've clicked quote and manually went to the link. I was a bit confused when I read your post since there was no picture :D.

Here it is in IMGUR so others can see it :).

I'd imagine rerolling the CDR to CHD would be best, but I don't play Wiz.

Edit: Can you get CHD on sources? :D.

I do wonder with items like this if they put the trash stats in on purpose so you have to spend extra to reroll them to get something better :)

You dont think the drops are weighted?

I don't necessarily believe the guy you linked above (from the D3 forums) but can certainly see that the guy has a point about the weighted drops and some legendary drops being rarer than others. He's also got the original datamined data from the Koreans that the diablo inc site based their article on.

Google docs spreadsheet with the info

You dont think the drops are weighted?

I don't think anything without confirmation from Blizzard or solid evidence. He posts a 'what we know' section which is largely come from Blue posts, everything after that is his baseless ramblings. Someone posting something that is riddled with loot paranoia and confirmation bias which essentially goes:

- I did some stuff, won't tell you what
- I made some conclusions from this stuff I did
- Here are these conclusions and a whole lot of begging the question around them
- Believe them!

Then you bring that here and ask us to? I'm not saying it's not possible at all, but I do think believing any old crap anyone tells you without evidence isn't a good way to carry yourself.

Loot paranoia is too easy to buy into and start fooling yourself left right and centre with. You can do 10 rifts and get 0 legendaries or 1 rift and get 10, you can see the same ring drop 5 times in a night or never see that one ring you really want. You can't take RNG and your own imagination and come up with anything worthwhile between those. So he could just post his testing methodology and results and let people go over them and see if there are any flaws to the test itself or the conclusion; there isn't anything wrong with that - until I see a blue post or actual evidence this is nothing of note.

then join that same game with your main and gamble from kadala, as it will be on the loot table..

The loot table is determined by toon, per game.

That isn't how you do it (according to the guy), as when you go into the game on a different char you'll have a new loot table.

You get someone else to make a game at the level you want, then you go in on the char you want the gear on, kill stuff, kadala, blah, blah, blah.

I don't believe what he says at all anyways tbh, he provides no evidence at all.
