I've not noticed any functionality issues, but two changes annoy me:
1) That the forward/back buttons are fixed. In a place I don't want them.
2) That saving bookmarks is now a two stage process: save it, then move it where you want it. It was much more sensible to file it at the time you were creating it.
2a) Add to the above: that they've fixed the "save bookmark" button to the "bookmarks" button, meaning they can't be moved apart. So I keep clicking on the wrong one.
Have they fixed that awful bug yet where typing something into the address bar uses the search engine selected in the search bar?
All of these are fixed by a number of the extensions posted already in this thread.
I wish people would understand what Firefox is as it's come to the point we can compare it to Android. The whole point of both is that the user makes it their own through customisation but should they not want to do that then the maker offers them a baseline which is inline with modern competition at least so they're somewhat familiar.
It takes no resources or effort to install one of the extensions above and tweak away until your eyeballs bleed.
My answer is: they shouldn't be necessary. Mozilla shouldn't break things, and thus force me to find a third party fix for it.
Cannot get my tabs down below the address bar any more.![]()
All of which misses the point: the question was, what do you think of the new Firefox? Apparantly you think the question was: what do you think of the mods for Firefox? My answer is: they shouldn't be necessary. Mozilla shouldn't break things, and thus force me to find a third party fix for it.
Not loving the newer version, what is the easiest way to rollback to v28?
All advice appreciated
Edit: All sorted:
you can't expect them to stand still and use the same design for ever. if you don't want to use an addon to restore the previous look then switch browser. if you choose IE/chrome then you really are stuck with the default look with no options to customise at all. it's your choice.

use the addon in the post above and you get options to customise the tabs.
"my browser has awesome addons but i don't want to use one to customise the layout." brilliant!
