Firefox 29?

Can someone test FF in a high contrast mode (white text on black I'm using) on Windows 8 please. I cant seen to ve able to highlight text on web pages to copy ect.

really not liking the curvy tabs and not being able to position reload (only took an hour to find it) button and back forward. one step forward three steps back...

I like to keep my plugins to a minimum

sorry, i didn't realise you had OCD. :p

my handy tip for the day. don't count the addons you have installed. instead, try and evaluate and see if they contain features that you find useful. only then should you decide whether to install it or not.

It's taken a few days but I'm slowly getting used to the way it is now. The combined add bookmark/menu button is the only thing that I would change but I'm getting used to that too.

nope still not used to it, old one was better, this still needs more wrist movement and the curvy tabs are just inefficient.

The way the have made the bookmarks part i hate,I keep accidentally bookmarking pages i don't want to as i mistake it for hitting the "home" button.

Also anyone else read about Firefox adding advertisements soon based on what you view a lot?..they can F that right off,Not having any of that.

The ad thing was a whole non issue blown out of proportion by forums. You can put the classic bookmark button back. Everything you need to know has been posted above by various good folks!

Finding FF29 not to be anywhere near as stable as the previous version.
FF29 will crash every 24-48hrs with a lot of windows and tabs open yet previous versions would keep running for a week and not crash. (it would get slower, but wouldn't crash)

I've had a lot of crashing too, assumed it was down to Classic Theme Restorer.

Since the update I've got the very annoying problem that the firefox.exe process does not terminate correctly when you close the browser. Next time you try to open it you get a message about 'firefox is already running but is not responding...' and you have to kill the old process in Task Manager. It's happening around 30-50% of the time I close Firefox :(

May have to uninstall and reinstall to see if that will fix it...

Using Firefox for years.

I don't mind using Chrome but what puts me off is that there's no option to set the cache limit. Chrome would become sluggish once the cache goes above 100 MB.

Solution go to > options > Privacy "Untick" Clear History When Firefox Closes.

You can launch Chrome with the command line argument "--disk-cache-size=N" (where N is the desired maximum cache size in bytes).

No real problems with FF29 here - the paired bookmark button was mildly annoying at first, as was the non-moveable main menu button, but I got used to it quickly enough.

One thing that annoys me is how to select text that is a hyperlink? Everytime I do it firefox thinks I want to drag the link. Holding Alt seems to allow me to select text in a link but it is not natural. Is there a way to be able to select hyperlink text normally?
